WELCOME TO
A1 Falconry UK Telemetry Systems
The best thing about our systems is that you can use them directionally in the car whilst driving along, saving hours of searching time.
The system has a loud audible output of (90 dB) which can be heard even in the most noisy of environments, so we no longer need the use of a confusing RF signal meter as well.
Easy to use controls and fixed frequency makes this the easiest system on the market to use,
just switch it on and use it.
All units are hand crafted and tested for 12 hours and guaranteed for 12 months.
The system comes complete with transmitter tail or leg mount kit and we offer a free 12 monthly service to check your system for performance or fault.
We offer this Service because out of all the falconers we have spoken to, none of them checked their
system at the beginning of the season for fault or performance, they just switched it on, If it worked
that was it! but it might not work when your bird reaches a couple of miles away. So whether you buy our system or any other : Check it or lose it Free 12 monthly service

Doug's World of Falconry
and other "RAPTOR" stuff
Hello....My Name is Douglas and I live in Irving, Texas. I do what I can to be part of Falconry every day. I am a Computer Technologist and enjoy Falconry, Ham Radio, Flight Simulation 95/98/2000, anything Flight Related including watching aircraft take-off and land at airports; anything related to Space Transportation, especially STS (Space Shuttle) and ISS (International Space Station) ... I also like women who enjoy talking about the past and future, and meeting all sorts of people, and helping them as much as I can. I will spend a dollar for a lost soul more than once a day. I Believe we should help each other as much as possible. I also believe that we tend to concentrate too much on humans, and forget about other life forms WAY TOO OFTEN! Obviously I am single and looking ... for a woman!!!
Myself and Ojay, Tiercel American Kestrel
What can I say ... I had this page up for many years, and it was simply washed away by a computer hacker in one night. I had no idea until I tried to view it. All related data is now gone, even from my hard drive, eaten away by some total idiot who thinks life is fun by destroying other people's projects. Perhaps he/she could not stand the fact that my page was better than him/hers, or perhaps the hacker thought it would be a major accomplishment to kill my page ... but whatever the reason, it is done. It will now take a long time for me to reconstruct this page, and I intend to do so in a much more secure manner. For now, simply use the following links to join FALCONRY WORLD or RAPTORS INTERNATIONAL. I own both of those sites! I will do my best to build and make this page even better than it was before the hacker struck .. Douglas E. Trapp (01/20/03)

What is falconry ? Do You Really Want to Become a Falconer? Thank you for your inquiry about falconry. You may have recently read

What is Falconry ?
Do You Really Want to Become a Falconer?
Thank you for your inquiry about falconry. You may have recently read about this ancient art in a book or periodical, learned about it through television or radio, perhaps a movie, or may have even seen a trained hawk in action. Whatever the case, you were obviously impressed enough to want to learn more about the sport of falconry, and we appreciate your interest.
However, few people thrilling at the magic of a trained hawk in flight realize what demands are placed upon one who aspires to be a falconer. Even fewer would be willing to make the sacrifices. There are the stringent, long-term demands of time, effort, and money.
The media often sensationalizes falconry, because the sport can be exciting to watch and carries with it the intrigue of antiquity, but
public media frequently is inaccurate in its representation of what it takes to be a falconer.
Of all sports in America, falconry is the only one that utilizes a
trained wild creature. Falcons, hawks, eagles and owls are essential elements of our wildlife. The competent falconer takes care to follow sound conservation principles in the pursuit of the sport. Even though the federal government's environmental assessment states falconry has "no impact" on wild raptor populations, a careless, uninformed individual, attempting to satisfy a passing fancy, can do great harm to one or more birds and cast the shadow of discredit on the sport of falconry itself. Most falconers, therefore, before they will agree to help anyone newly attracted to the sport, will require evidence of a serious, committed interest in falconry. They feel that anything less is not worth bothering with.

As the hood is removed, the falcon pauses to gain her bearings before leaving the gloved fist. The pointer, frozen into immobility in the heather, stiffens perceptibly, in anticipation of action. The falcon begins her climb, making the best of the wind and the lie of the land to gain altitude as swiftly as possible. Beneath her, the falconer makes his way cautiously around the point, sweeping wide of the dog to safeguard against inadvertently flushing the grouse before his falcon has attained the correct position. When the falcon has finished her climb, she sets her wings and ' waits on ', several hundred feet above the falconer. When her position is perfect - a little upwind of where the falconer estimates the grouse are lying, he calls the flush and he and his dog converge on the grouse, forcing them to leave the sanctuary of the heather. The falcon turns over on the wind and stoops. At speeds that have been recorded at as much as 217 mph, she plummets downwards like a bolt from the blue, the wind tearing audibly through her feathers. She overhauls the grouse and gathers it sweetly in her talons, before turning to catch the wind once more to slow her decent into the heather. There, she dispatches the grouse and begins to pluck it, with relish, awaiting the arrival of the falconer.
