Welcome to Halt@X, your online guide to all things dressage. Like a horse in dressage training, this site will ever be developing, growing and improving. Check back often for updates, made when I have time (which isn't much!). An Animated Guide to Dressage Dressage Arena Geometry Or, how to ride a test accurately The Lateral Movements Halt@X is one person's view of dressage American style. There are others, equally as valid. When dealing with horses, it's best to keep an open mind and learn from as many reputable sources as possible. The views expressed in this site are not necessarily those of the USDF or AHSA. Halt@X invites your comments. Send e-mail to kpautz@yahoo.com Unfortunately, at this time neither the American Horse Shows Association nor the United States Dressage Federation will grant permission to post the AHSA dressage tests online. Should they ever capitulate, you can be sure the tests will be posted on Halt@X. Use this button to return to this page from anywhere within the Halt@X site

Technical considerations:
The image must download to your browser cache, and while it's downloading, it won't seem very animated. Be patient these files are large! Once the entire image is downloaded it will begin running through the animation. Theoretically, you can stop the animation by hitting the escape key or clicking on the "stop" button in the browser. However, I've had varied results with this. On some browsers, the animation will run more smoothly if you use your mouse to move your cursor around within the browser screen. Go figure. These animated gifs were taken from video clips they were originally in color but look better in black and white. Their dimensions are purposely kept small to improve download time.

http://www.classical-dressage.net/
C lassical Dressage is the real thing, the original - in all its purity. It should be very simple. It is nothing more nor less than practising dressage with a correct seat and correct training methods. Classical Dressage is correct for the horse, correct for you, and correct for that moment in time. The horse hasn't changed in thousands of years, neither have human beings. We are all ruled by the same physical laws of nature, which is why there is no middle way. Only correct, and incorrect Sylvia Loch
