Discraft Great Lakes Open Pages Discraft One Disc Challenge Hudson Mills Metropark April 28, 2004 Wednesday at 5:30pm The 3rd Annual Discraft One Disc Challenge will be held on Wednesday, April 28. We will tee off at 5:30 pm The Discraft One Disc Challenge is FREE to all club members . Discraft will give each club member a FREE disc to play the round with and to keep. The round will be played only with that one disc and prizes will be awarded afterwards. The score from this round will not be counted as part of the regular league. We will start keeping track of scores for league on May 5. There is no entry fee for the Discraft One Disc Challenge, but you will need to pay your club dues to participate. We'll collect membership dues starting at 4:30 pm. Annual club dues are $25.00 and you will receive a disc, a mini, and a T-shirt, all bearing a custom club logo. Look for us at the practice hole tee pad, near the parking lot. Warning: This event fills up very quickly. We have a very limited number Discraft One Disc Challenge discs. So plan on coming out early!

The sport of Disc Golf (also known as Frisbee Golf) is a professional sport, including tournaments with cash prizes for the pros, and points towards turning pro for amateur winnings. But this sport is much more than just competition. This is a sport any person can enjoy. Disc golf is geared toward families; any age and ability can play. If they can throw a Frisbee, let them play. The best part is it costs nothing to play except for the cost of a disc or two. The rules are fairly simple. It's played just like the game of golf with clubs and balls, with only two exceptions. The game uses discs instead of a club and ball, and the discs are tossed into a basket (also referred to as pins) instead of a hole in the ground. The best score is the lowest amount of strokes taken to rest the disc in the basket. Disc Golf Course Planned for Brandt/Quirk Park View / Print Brandt Park Sponsorship Solicitation Letter (MS Word) Presently, we are eagerly awaiting sponsorships to start the building process of our planned course at Brandt/Quirk Park. A complete 18-pin course with tee signs and the works costs about $18,000. Any moneys donated will go toward the pins, tee signs and cement for the tee pads (driving surface). Donations of at least $500 will receive a plaque at the tee sign saying "Hole sponsored by (Company Name)". We will also have privately sponsored holes. There may be more than one name on a hole sponsorship, depending upon the amount of donation. (see map) Genesee County Parks and Recreation Commission is proud to announce the grand opening of Genesee County's first Disc Golf Course. Disc golf is played like ball golf, using flying discs. One stroke is counted each time the disc is thrown, and a penalty is incurred. After teeing off, the player whose disc is farthest from the hole always throws first.
