A sailing club on the Cam
If you've seen the Cam in Cambridge, you might find it hard to believe there's a sailing club on such a narrow river. It's a little wider where we sail and we have a good stretch of water that's clear of trees. The CSC has thrived on the Cam since 1899.
Where is it?
The CSC is on the River Cam, just north of Cambridge, England, at the hamlet of Clayhithe near Waterbeach. It's the nearest sailing club to the city of Cambridge, set in spacious grounds along the banks of the Cam. See

The VIRUSPLUS - multihull sailing dinghy
The ultimate family boat. Enjoy the exhilaration of sailing trimarans offshore in this innovative 16ft multihull boat. Explore coastline and islands secure in the knowledge that it is safe for your family and friends to share your adventures.
Not enough wind today? Use your engine to pootle up river. Or turn the boat into a rowing catamaran and get some exercise. This is a boat for all occasions.
Several boats in one
So you want a fast and exhilarating dinghy to sail but you don't want to make excessive use of your wet suit! You would like a boat that is stable enough to be safe for those dear to you to share your enjoyment of sailing and yet fast enough to be fun.
Or maybe you face a different problem. Perhaps one of you wants to row while the other wants to sail. Then again you might want to go sailing on windy days and rowing on calm days. Before the VirusPlus it was not possible to have a boat that did all these things well. But now you can buy one craft that will do all these things brilliantly because it is several boats in one package. You can choose the mode you wish to use and rig it accordingly.
Adaptable and versatile
The Virus Plus can be changed from one boat form to another easily. Each form has different characteristics so you can adapt it to the weather, the occasion or just your mood.

Lac Deschenes Sailing Club
On the Ottawa River, Ottawa Ontario Dedicated to sailing small boats For over 30 years Club Info Programs Fees Maps ... Laser Masters LDSC is hosting the 2004 Ontario Laser Master Championships
- August 28th - 29th 2004 -

The Lac Deschenes Sailing Club was formed in 1967 to provide area dinghy and cat sailors a venue focused specifically on small boat sailing. A low cost volunteer organization, the club has a low-key cottage like atmosphere. Arguably the best site for sailing on this section of the river, the Lac Deschenes Sailing Club features beach launching for dry sailed dinghies and cats. Shirleys Bay provides excellent protection from the typically North West winds that come down the river, so setup and launching is convenient. The Shirley's Bay Sailing Club merging with LDSC in 1994, enlarged the daysailing contingent with wet moored boats. With a highly competent racing program with regular regatta schedule, and several national and international level sailors (but beginners are welcome too), plus junior and adult training programs, the club has much to offer all levels of sailors. Adult sailors are often coached one on one by volunteer club members to fast-track new members into sailing and racing. Michael McGoldrick is keeping watch on the bridge issue and now the possible introduction of a cable ferry that would cause the Kanata Sailing Club to move from their present location.

Steve's Wing Dinghy Website Last update: 28 Jan 2001
You are visitor Payette Cup Regatta New Photos on Maiden Voyage page Introduction Hello, my name is Stephen James and this website is dedicated to the construction and sailing (hopefully) of my homemade boat, the Wing Dinghy. The Wing Dinghy is a small (12') boat that is built from scratch with the use of plans from Stevenson Projects . It is constructed primarily of 1/4" plywood and is designed to be built completely from everyday hardware store-type materials. Why a Wing Dinghy? I decided to build this boat during the summer of 1999 after several solo trips to the lake with my 21' Spirit sailboat . I could set the boat up, launch, sail, retrieve, and take down the rig by myself. The problem was that it took a good hour and a half from the time I drove up to the parking lot to sailing away and about the same from pulling into the dock to driving away. Add to this a two hour drive to and from the lake and you can see that I spent more time ashore than sailing on a one day trip. Also, there was something missing in sailing it. That feeling you get when you are right down on the water hiking so far out over the side that you can see the daggerboard beneath you. The spray in your face and the feeling of speed as you plane across the waves. These are things that are pretty hard to get from anything but a small boat. These were things I realized I missed about sailing from the boats I learned to sail on (
