Access Dinghies were designed to appeal to that huge majority of the world's population who would love to have a go at sailing, but find it too difficult or uninviting to do so. Whether as a recreation, a competition sport or a therapeutic activity; the Access Dinghy design features allow total novices of any ability to sail with little or no tuition, nearly regardless of the conditions. Around the world, Access Dinghies are introducing whole new communities to sailing. Apart from the development of revolutionary sailing craft and supportive equipment - Access Dinghy Sailing System (ADSS) also fosters the formation and development of the innovative "accessible sailing" network throughout the world.
Let us help you start an "Accessible Sailing Club" in your area.

Why....Dinghy Sailing? Dinghy Sailing? Do it for the adrenalin rush! There is nothing like a sunny late Autumnal day on the south coast of England for exhilarating and memorable sailing. The wind heaves at a force 5 to 6 , the sun leaves the field in the west and leaves behind a blood-soaked like battle field of reds and oranges. The shift down in temperature irritates the wind. It squeals and squawks its way across the estuary banks cutting through lines of stationery boats stopping only to rattle any loose fabric or rope. The familiar tingling sound of halyards scratching against metal masts conjure a cacophony of sound that wraiths might create. Aboard your boat, you seek to harness rather than fight this pagan force of the wind.

Dinghy Sailing 2004
Dinghy sailing continues to attract thousands of people each year. Some never tire of the enjoyment that comes from a leisurely afternoon's sail, or quickly become involved in the exciting physical and technical challenge of racing. Others may have broader horizons, seeing dinghy sailing as the first step towards offshore cruising. I f you've never sailed before you'll be surprised how easy it is. Good tuition and sound advise mean you'll learn quickly and get the most from your new sport. An RYA course is the best possible introduction to the lifetime hobby of sailing. We use the following dinghies at Ardingly: Wayfarer - A 16ft dinghy used for general training, a stable roomy boat ideal for teaching. Pico - An all-round fun boat, which can be sailed single handed or as a double hander with a jib. In performance and size, the Pico fits between the Topper and Laser. - A high performance spinnaker trapeze boat used for training. Laser - A fast single hander, this olympic class boat provides a challenge for more experienced sailors.

Dinghy sailing
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. Dinghy sailing is the activity of sailing small boats by using (1) the sails and (2) underwater foils (centreboard and rudder). It also involves adjusting (3) the trim and (4) balance by changing position of the crew and helm within the boat. Together with (5) 'course made good' (effective choice of route and maneuvers), these are the five essentials of dinghy sailing. Development of the Dinghy
Early Beginnings
There has always been a need for small tender boats as transport to and from moored sailing ships. Together with other smaller work craft such as fishing and light cargo, small inshore craft have always been in evidence. Charles II of England had a private sailing boat presented to him when he returned from exile to England in the 17th century, and he sailed for recreation and competition. Towards the end of the 19th century people began to use these small boats for sport and recreational sailing, utilising the opportunities for leisure afforded by the industrial revolution. Larger privately used sailing boats had developed separately, and have resulted in the

Dinghy sailing has enjoyed an explosion in popularity over recent years. The development of lighter boats with modern rigs means sailing small boats has never been easier or as exciting. Free Sailing
Every day of your holiday you are free to enjoy sailing independently within our designated sailing area. Our constant safety cover ensures you are able to practice new-found techniques or just to potter at your own pace. Day Sailing
We regularly offer day sails, giving you a chance to explore the stunning coastlines and secluded bays found around our centres. Escorted by our safety boats, our larger dinghies are loaded with packed lunches and snorkels, before heading off to a peaceful location for a picnic and swim. Day sails are always dependant on local weather conditions. Our Dinghies
We carefully select the most suitable boats for each of our sailing locations. While some of our favourite models can be found in all centres, certain high performance models are based mainly at centres like Porto Heli and Mar Menor, where they are suited to the local conditions. Please remember kit lists vary and from time to time some items may be withdrawn from use to enable repairs. Click here for a complete listing of our dinghies.
