CUSTOM BACCHETTA AERO We've got one 2003 Aero left. This one's a hot one! Headlining this machine are Velocity Deep V rims in Ti Grey laced to 28 hole American Classic Ultra-light and fast hubs. We used very aero bladed spokes for this application. We also Built this one up with Shimano Dura-Ace equipment. The front and rear derailleur and the rear brake are Dura-Ace. On the Bacchetta front brake, we upgraded the brake pads to Kool Stop reds for superior stopping power. We used Cane Creek Brake levers to squeeze the Aero to a stop. The crank is a FSA carbon Team issue triple running on a Phil Wood bottom bracket and turning Sach's PC- 99 hollow pin chain. The final component in the drive train is a Dura Ace 11 - 23 nine speed cassette. The 3 x 9 shifters are SRAM Rocket half-pipes. This bike is an in-store pickup only!

Tyler "Super T" Klassen!!! I grew up in Abbotsford B.C. I guess I've been hooked on bikes almost my entire life. I slid into our creek at 3years old and that's all it took. I've been rippin ever since! Growing up on the family farm was all about building jumps and good times to be had. At 12 I destroyed all of my family's bikes, so I saved up and purchased my first, nice mtn bike. I was stoked and rode it tons! When I turned 13 I saw a local motocross race and wanted to be out there! I worked hard, got a 91YZ 125 and then bugged my parents until they took me to a race. I got worked, but had the time of my life! From then on in, it was the flavor of the month mtn biking or mx. In 96 I started working at the local bike shop. I was 15 so I pedaled to work after school, It was the perfect job. Deals on bike parts! My work buddies introduced me to the riding in Vancouver and on our second ride we ran into (The Digger)Todd Fiander, he is the maker of the North Shore Extreme videos. I had no idea who he was though. I was eyeing up a large cliff drop, so Todd pulled out his camera and shot it. Later that year I purchased the vid. and half way through I was like hey, that's me! I met (Dangerous)Dan Cowan in 99. I rode his trail (The Circus) weekly and ran into him all the time. I guess he didn't get a lot of traffic on it, so he was always stoked to see me and my buds cruising down there. We later started riding together and he asked me to join his Flow Riders team! (The flow riders do demos of north shore style riding) I traveled with the show doing gigs for the next 2 and a half years, we traveled as far as Koln Germany!

Welcome to How's My Cycling
around the world by bicycle
The expedition has two principle aims:
1) to travel around the planet without using fossil-fuelled transport (no planes, trains, buses, cars or ships - bicycle for land, yachts for water).
2) to raise awareness and funds for the charity ITDG to find practical answers to poverty.
The journey to date:
2 years
3 continents
27,000km cycled Currently: Looking for a yacht or freighter to cross the Pacific Ocean from New Zealand to North America. In the future: Sail across the Pacific Ocean Cycle across Canada and the USA Sail across the Atlantic Ocean Cycle across Ireland and the UK Return to the Prime Meridian, London from the west (I left heading east) to finish late 2004 Who am I? My name is Edwin Tucker, 32-year-old New Zealander looking forward to crossing the Pacific Ocean to North America for the last continental leg of the journey.

Understanding NMR spectroscopy
This course is aimed at those who are already familiar with using NMR on a day-to-day basis, but who wish to deepen their understanding of how NMR experiments work and the theory behind them. It is assumed that you are familiar with the concepts of chemical shifts and couplings, and are used to interpreting proton and carbon-13 spectra. It is also assumed that you have at least come across simple two-dimensional spectra such as COSY and HMQC and perhaps may have used such spectra in the course of your work. Similarly, some familiarity with the nuclear Overhauser effect (NOE) will be assumed. That NMR is a useful for chemists will be taken as self evident. This course will always use the same approach. We will first start with something familiar - such as multiplets we commonly see in proton NMR spectra - and then go deeper into the explanation behind this, introducing along the way new ideas and new concepts. In this way the new things that we are learning are always rooted in the familiar, and we should always be able to see why we are doing something. In NMR there is no escape from the plain fact that to understand all but the simplest experiments we need to use quantum mechanics. Luckily for us, the quantum mechanics we need for NMR is really rather simple, and if we are prepared to take it on trust, we will find that we can make quantum mechanical calculations simply by applying a set of rules. Also, the quantum mechanical tools we will use are quite intuitive and many of the calculations can be imagined in a very physical way. So, although we will be using quantum mechanical ideas, we will not be using any heavy-duty theory. It is not necessary to have studied quantum mechanics at anything more than the most elementary level.
