In 1928 he won the French Bol d'Or, a now obsolete tandem event. In 1931 he led the Australian team in the Tour de France and also won the Paris-Brest-Paris race. The French newspaper Auto voted him Sportsman of the Year. During World War II he served in the Royal Australian Air Force and later went into politics. He was a member of the Federal Parliament from 1949 to 1967, was Minister of Shipping and Transport from 1960 to 1963 and Minister of Immigration from 1963 to 1966. For more than twenty years, the New Hampshire Cycling Club has been promoting the sport of amateur competitive bicycling. Many of our members ride for Team New Hampshire , NHCC's cycling team. We conduct weekly training races at the NH International Speedway as well as the Concord Capitol and NHIS Criteriums
LIST Changes : We are going to try using Yahoo Groups to manage mass communications for the entire club and Team NH. One benefit will be ability for messages posted to the group to be archived on the Yahoo Groups site. Welcome to the web site of the Kent Cycling Association 12 Hour Time Trial. The site contains information about the annual 12 Hour Time Trial which takes place on the roads of Kent. The 2004 event will be held on 8 August. Information about last year's event, including location of the start and maps can be found by clicking on the menu button for 2003. Details of the previous year's event are accessible under the 2002 button. We have a separate archive of information on various events over the last 70 years. If you have any start sheets, result sheets or photographs of any KCA 12 Hour events that we could include then please send them to Tim Carpenter at 8 Breer Street, Fulham, SW6 3HD. He promises to return any material received.
