Woohoo, Database Systems went a bit better than expected, reckon I came out of it with something close to a B, so Im well happy indeed. Could answer pretty much all of the paper, apart from one or two rather hairy SQL queries, and some of the multiple choice malarky was a complete guess :) Im off now till next Friday, so Im going home tomorrow for a few days for some DSP study, sleep, and decent cooking. Thursday, 20-05-2004, 22:03:42
In other news, got full marks in the Document Architecture project, so an A2 or a B1 is a distinct possibility. Thursday, 20-05-2004, 22:02:07
Currently wading through AI study - just have cover a few basic search systems and then I can go home, have a chinese, and be in bed before midnight for a change, as the exam is 9am tomoroow. 9am exams suck, thats the only way to describe them. Trying to convince your brain to run at full speed that time in the morning aint easy at all. Guh. At least DB Systems on Friday is on at 12, which is way better, just nice time to get up, have breakfast, and wander into the exam. Wednesday, 19-05-2004, 12:09:35

Results: Individual Teams Medals EC photo albums ... Welcome to fieldarcher.nl Warning: field archery is known to be highly addictive. Spending too much time on this site might get you infected with the virus as well. Although we're more fluent in Dutch, most of this site is in English. There are quite a few Dutch field archers, but our international visitors outnumber them. So, it makes sense to cater all of you in a language that's comprehensible for an international audience. That being said, we'll try to make an effort to be as bilingual as possible. So, the columns section for instance, will provide columns in both English and Dutch. Our Photo Gallery is multilingual, according to an ancient Chinese proverb that a picture tells more than a thousand words. Feel free to browse around and use the [slideshow] option in the upper right corner when viewing an album to speed up that process. Furthermore, the calendar section provides information about the European events we know about. Obviously, since the editing staff is based in the Netherlands, we tend to be well informed about events in Holland. If you feel we should add an item to the calendar, please use the contact us option from the menu. Finally, if you would like to see your photo's published

    Pre 25,000 BC
The discovery of the first stone arrowheads in Africa tends to indicate that the bow and arrow were invented there, maybe as early as 50,000 BC. It was probably developed in conjunction with the invention of the spear thrower. A short bow would be a better hunting weapon when used to stalk animals in wooded areas, rather than carry around long spears. The shape of the earliest bows can only be guessed at, as broken or worn out bows would probably end up on the cooking fire , reshaped into different tools or just thrown away. Back to Top

Fire hardened points used on the arrows. Flint arrowheads shaped to a point and inserted into a slot and tied with sinew to the front of the arrow. Feathers were glued and tied with sinew to the arrow shafts. Back to Top
