Liberal Arts The Office of Economic Development and Technology Assessment is a combined technology transfer and industrial liaison office that manages patents and other intellectual properties for Tech and provides assistance to firms and individuals seeking research or licensing assistance. Developmental research in cooperation with government and industry is a natural conduit for technology transfer. Such work is part of the mission of many of Tech’s applied research and engineering centers. You can contact the centers directly via their Web sites. Tech also operates a Technology Transfer Center in Shreveport, La., where technologies are showcased and groups meet to discuss technology issues. This Center is located near the Shreveport Regional Airport. The Office of University Research offers direct support to faculty and staff in all aspects of seeking and maintaining external grant funding. From identifying funding sources to proposal preparation to finally managing grant accounts, the University Research staff provides support, training, and education to help faculty and staff reach their goals for external funding.
