You will find: Program Description Program History Getting Started Faces of Peace ... Links “This is the area of study I've been looking for all my life!” said one new student. What makes Peace and Conflict Studies (PAX) attractive or exciting is both its content and application. Parents, school teachers, those interested in legal questions and justice, others interested in social work, child care, ecotourism, or concerned with the health of the workplace or violence on the streets and around the world; all can benefit from the sound academic examination of patterns of peace and conflicts. The understanding and application of alternative and constructive paths and the resolution of conflict whether in the family, playground, workplace, or within and between nations, is also an integral part of the program. We treat the content of courses and the way they are taught with equal care. The concern is to teach in a manner consistent with the building of just and democratic structures. Because Peace and Conflict Studies is interdisciplinary in nature students receive the benefit of the contributions of many disciplines and the research skills and interests of a number of Mount Saint Vincent's dedicated faculty members.

VERSION FRANCOPHONE If all the Learners on WeaponWorld Cast off misgivings and worked to the same plan, We could build PeaceWorld within one generation. FIRST THINGS FIRST, WORLD PEACE FIRST! Link to: We are confronted with the fierce urgency of now In this unfolding conundrum of life and history there is such a thing as being too late. Procrastination is still the thief of time. Life often leaves us standing bare, naked and dejected with a lost opportunity. We may cry out desperately for time to pause in her passage, but time is deaf to every plea and rushes on. We still have a choice today: nonviolent coexistence or violent co-annihilation. Martin Luther King, Where Do We Go From Here: Chaos or Community http://ww.forusa.org/nonviolence/MLK_WorldHouse.html CAUTION : The following is a free 500-page BOOK From your favorite text, to the Bill of Rights, to the Space Shuttle Flight Manual: texts become influential once many people agree to share them. Until that time, they are just strings of symbols: powerless and empty. If you want to share freedom, launch liftoff or World Peace, for that matter you and many other creative talents must agree to study the same basic text, give voice to it, then act on it.
