Careers in Geography! Jobs in Geography! Geography is an attractive major for students. Its theories and methods provide analytical techniques applicable to a wide range of questions asked over a broad spectrum of occupations. For students planning to end their formal education with the bachelor's degree, a geography major provides marketable skills and the broad perspectives on environment and society that enable graduates to move beyond entry-level positions. Geography also provides a sound foundation for students who plan to enter graduate work in a variety of fields, from geography to business, land use planning, law, and medicine. The potential for practicing geography in private enterprise and government has grown considerably in recent years, although few such positions are designated with the title of geographer. Roughly a quarter of all geographers work in the private and public sectors.

    IB Geography Notes
    Welcome
Welcome to all of you visiting this site for the first time. For those of you who don't know what the IB is, please visit the official IB website for an indepth explanation of what the International Baccalaureate is all about. Put simply, it is an educational system that strives to unite students from all around the world through a common standard of academic excellence. Furthermore, it pushes students to think outside the box, making them more understanding and more productive members of their societies. On this site, you will find condensed but exhaustive notes on the IB Geography Course for both subsidiary and higher level students. You will also find the assessment criteria used and the aims and objectives of IB Geography. Please be sure to check out the links. There you'll find other websites on the IB, providing examples of extended essays, World Lit papers and notes on other IB subjects. This site was created by an IB geography teacher of many years now teaching at the Atlanta International School A word of warning. This site and the notes found therein cannot be and should not be used as a substitute for traditional learning through classroom student/teacher interaction. It serves as a supplement for learning, providing notes that may have been missed in class. The notes are also ideal for studying just before exams, when there may not be enough time to re-read the entire course material. Use them wisely.

The content that was on GEOGRAPHY4KIDS has been moved to the new subscription based KAPILI.COM. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We believe that directing our efforts into one large science site will create a more successful learning experience. We hope you visit the new site. Learn a little about the new site below...
TUTORIALS (Over 50 for Earth Sciences):
The Kapili tutorials break down key ideas of science, math, and technology. Our tutorials are designed to break down a single topic into four parts. Each part will have a short paragraph and graphic used to illustrate an idea. We are using this style to help you learn complex ideas in bite-sized pieces. While there are over 50 activities for earth sciences alone, we have almost 250 activities for all of the material we cover on the site.
You might be asking, "But what about a big topic like cells?" Using cells as an example you will find one page that talks about the general idea of what a cell is. Linked to that page and our main biology tutorial list you will find dozens of other pages. If you are new to cells you can start there and then move to a tutorial on the cell membrane, mitochondria, and even peroxisomes. Each of the detailed tutorials will also have the same layout with four paragraphs and four graphics.
Current earth science tutorials include information on: Climates, Weather, Biomes, Atmosphere, Biosphere, Hydrosphere, and the inner workings of the Earth.
