2, How’d I get here?
Good question! I had plans, a typical “nuclear family” 2.4 children and a dog! Life never goes as planned though, does it? I think I must’ve been hit by a tornado of chaos as it feels like the past 14 years have passed in a blink of the eye, I feel like my life is running in fast forward, and I’m jogging along frantically trying to keep up! Before I knew it, I found myself with two beautiful babies, both planned, followed by another two happy little accidents shortly after (the best accidents I ever had). As if this wasn’t enough, I then went on to fall madly in love with a great man with four children of his own, we all moved in together and thought life would be beautiful! Well, beautiful it is, easy it aint! But would we change it? Never! So today, here I am; dog hair in my coffee, no money in the bank, a house that permanently looks like the aftermath of some wild party, all my theories and standards out the window, taking one day at a time and loving every minute. Ok fair enough maybe that’s not true, I can honestly say I don’t love every minute, in fact sometimes I wish life gave us pause and rewind, but it never will, so I just learned to keep an open mind and accept all life throws my way as a challenge, some I fail, some I excel at, but the bad days do make you appreciate the good ones.

http://www.namebase.org/sources/UR.html
Woodhouse, C.M. The Rise and Fall of the Greek Colonels. New York: Franklin Watts, 1985. 192 pages.
C.M. Woodhouse, a former British diplomat, Conservative MP, and Oxford fellow, has written several books on modern Greek history. In April 1967, a group of colonels seized power and held on to it until 1974. The Greek junta was known around the world for its suspension of civil liberties, torture of political prisoners, and brutal repression of a student revolt in November 1973. The regime was brought down primarily because the various branches of the military could only manage to conspire against each other when it came time to defend their position in Cyprus against Turkish forces. Many people believe that the level of CIA intrigue behind the junta was an important factor. This is true with Oriana Fallaci in "A Man" (1980), an overwhelmingly-dramatic biography of junta prisoner Alexander Panagoulis. Woodhouse concedes that the CIA probably had advance knowledge of the coup, but feels that popular opinion in Greece is also trying to scapegoat the CIA for a situation of their own making. With his Establishment credentials, Woodhouse cannot be expected to pursue the question. Regardless of what forces led to the coup, vice-president Spiro Agnew was openly pro-junta during his term, and Nixon, Kissinger, and Dean Rusk weren't much better. The junta, after all, was open to U.S. corporations, Greece was a NATO ally in a strategic region, and the Navy needed to homeport the Sixth Fleet there.

On the sad occasion of the retreat of the Ladies of
the Republic of Pemberley to a seaside resort in
Washington - July 2001
Play the Song!
(To the tune of "Greensleeves")
To go to the seaside of Washington
And young ladies are delicate plants!
Protect your throats and wear your shawls
Eat gruel, gruel! Serve hot or cool
Must be thin is the only rule
Gruel, gruel is the wholesome choice For every constitution Alas, dear ladies, it grieves me much To think of you singing and dancing and such Avoid open windows and inns without fail Outside the shrubbery gipsies roam Avoid evening dews and stay close to home And eat gruel, gruel! Serve hot or cool Must be thin is the only rule Gruel, gruel is the wholesome choice For every constitution Let Serle do the cooking,Serle knows an egg And pray take an apple, but do bake it thrice

Waterways Engineers and Surveyors from Williams, Edward Leader senior
Edward Leader senior Williams died 1879
Engineer to the Severn Commissioners. Father of Sir Edward Leader Williams and worked with W B Clegram. Autumn 1838 River Severn As engineer responsible for river improvements between Stourport and Gloucester he presented a revised plan to the Commission. Autumn 1840 River Severn He was appointed sub-engineer to the newly formed Severn Improvement Association. August 1847 River Severn As engineer for the Commisssion he admitted that the depth of the river was only 4 feet in some parts, blaming the deletion of his proposed lock at Upton from the 1842 Act. River Severn He told an enquiry that it was impossible to maintain channel depths by dredging as this made the channels "so many mill-races, down which it was difficult to navigate the vessels" leading to frequent accidents. The company bought two steam coasters for use on the Severn which he had designed, the Ironside and the Cuurassier . These wer 94 feet long with a 19 feet 6 inches beam built on a wooden frame with an iron plate skin. River Severn An Act was passed based on his and W B Clegram's proposals for a weir in the western channel to improve flows in the eastern channel to Gloucester and for a lock at Llanthony.
