Giuseppes morbror, som till yrket var präst och advokat, insåg snart att hans systerson var begåvad och tog med sig honom till Turin för att förbereda honom för universitet sstudier. År 1876 så skrevs Giuseppe Peano in vid Turin s universitet Giuseppes mål med studierna var från början att bli ingenjör - men han fastnade snart för matematik en och efter tre års studier så var han den ende av hans studiekamrater som fortsatte med studier i matematik då han insett att det var ett väldigt intressant ämne. Giuseppe Peano Nell'ambito delle celebrazioni per l'ottavo centenario della Città di Cuneo, è stato presentato il convegno di studi dal titolo Il bel tempo dei Peano, promosso dal Liceo Scientifico di Cuneo. Un atto dovuto, sarebbe il caso di dire, per un personaggio, il matematico Giuseppe Peano, a cui la città di Cuneo ha dato i natali nel 1858, e che va a buon diritto annoverato tra i suoi cittadini più illustri di ogni tempo. Il convegno è stato un momento culturale particolarmente significativo, in cui cattedratici qualificati hanno tracciato con linguaggio semplice le varie tappe della carriera scientifica "dei Peano"; perché, come ha spiegato il Preside del Liceo prof. Perlo, promotore del convegno, la personalità poliedrica di Peano ha lasciato il segno in svariati campi. Il prof. Bottazzini, dell'Università di Palermo, ha delineato un percorso naturale nell'evoluzione del pensiero del matematico cuneese, che si è sviluppato attraverso l'aritmetica, l'algebra, la geometria e l'analisi infinitesimale, per arrivare alla logica e alla scienza del linguaggio. Già a 24 anni, novello ricercatore all'Università di Torino, Peano si mette in mostra per alcune geniali intuizioni che fanno letteralmente vacillare alcuni aspetti fino ad allora considerati punti fermi dalla comunità dei matematici italiani. Sono questi indiscussi meriti che pochi anni dopo gli fruttano un riconoscimento accademico: nel 1890 è già professore ordinario di analisi.

Giuseppe Peano Giuseppe Peano logicista e matemático italiano, nasceu a 27 de Agosto de 1858 em Cuneo, Saradinia. Estudou matemática na Universidade de Turim. Foi professor nesta mesma Universidade desde 1890 até à sua morte e na Real Academia de Artillería de 1886 até 1901. Criou uma língua internacional chamada «latino sine flexione» ou «interlingua», língua com um vocabulário bastante simplificado, baseada no Latim, Francês, Inglês e Alemão. Fundou a "Rivista di Matematica" em 1891, publicada posteriormente em francês e na sua interlingua. Em 1903 propôs a interlingua como língua auxiliar internacional e em 1908 foi eleito presidente da "Academia pro interlingua" que transformou numa associação científica, tendo como orgão de expressão oficial a revista "Schola et Vita" Morreu subitamente em Turim a 20 de Abril de 1932.
