John Nash was born in London in 1752. He trained as an architect but after being bequeathed a large sum of money, Nash retired to Wales. However, Nash lost his inheritance after making some bad investments and in 1792 he was forced to return to work as an architect.
Nash's work came to the attention of the Prince Regent (later George IV ) who commissioned him to design Regent's Park and its environs of curved terraces. This was followed by the design of Carlton House Terrace, Trafalgar Square, St. James's Park and the Marble Arch.
George IV
also arranged for Nash to create Buckingham Palace out of Buckingham House and the rebuilding of the Royal Pavilion at Brighton . John Nash died in 1835.

John F Nash 's father, also called John Forbes Nash so we shall refer to him as John Nash Senior, was a native of Texas. John Nash Senior was born in 1892 and had an unhappy childhood from which he escaped when he studied electrical engineering at Texas Agricultural and Mechanical. After military service in France during World War I, John Nash Senior lectured on electrical engineering for a year at the University of Texas before joining the Appalachian Power Company in Bluefield, West Virginia. John F Nash's mother, Margaret Virginia Martin, was known as Virginia. She had a university education, studying languages at the Martha Washington College and then at West Virginia University. She was a school teacher for ten years before meeting John Nash Senior, and the two were married on 6 September 1924. Johnny Nash, as he was called by his family, was born in Bluefield Sanitarium and baptised into the Episcopal Church. He was [2]:-

THE ADVENTURES OF PLUTO NASH
Rated PG-13 - Running Time: 1:36 - Released 8/16/02
Its release delayed for nearly two years, The Adventures Of Pluto Nash marks another mediocre notch in Eddie Murphy's spotty career. Having participated in such enjoyable recent films as Life Bowfinger , and Shrek , and such unfunny misfires as Dr. Dolittle 2 and Showtime , Murphy continues the search for a vehicle that will heat up the box-office cash registers and put his name back on top of Hollywood's most wanted list. While Pluto Nash , a futuristic comedy about a night club owner on the moon, is reasonably diverting and full of interesting visual effects (reportedly part of the reason for its delay), it's not going to do that. Its story, penned by Neil Cuthbert ( Mystery Men ), is overcomplicated, and its director, Ron Underwood ( City Slickers ), can't seem to decide whether he wants it to be a crime thriller with humor or a knee-slapping comedy with crime. Murphy's performance as the title character is well-rehearsed (in the sense that he's done this schtick before), but lacks energy, and of his co-stars, Rosario Dawson isn't given much to do except look good in a space suit and Randy Quaid doesn't seem to get most of the jokes he's saying.
There is no doubt that the effects are the most interesting thing about this movie. It's so full of colorful imagery and digital effects, it's practically a cartoon. Murphy's participation is that of a man who's been around the Hollywood comedy mill a few times; he seems to be going through the motions as if he's tired of doing comedy that doesn't involve massive make-up jobs or multiple characterizations. Randy Quaid is surprisingly unfunny in his silly role, and his character has a sub-plot that never fully resolves itself. Adding a modicum of humor is John Cleese as a holographic chauffeur; his characterization is identical to almost all the post-Monty Python movie roles he's done, but it's still funny. Also on hand is a surprising number of semi-known actors in smaller roles, including Jay Mohr as a Tony Bennett-style lounge singer, James Rebhorn as the villain's henchman, and Illeana Douglas as a futuristic body-makeover artist.

John Nash was born London in 1893. On the outbreak of the First World War , Nash joined the First Artist Rifles . On one occasion Nash was one of eighty men ordered to cross No-Mans-Land at Marcoing near Cambrai . Of these, only Nash and eleven men returned. Afterwards Nash painted Over the Top in memory of the failed attack. John's brother, Paul Nash , was one of the best known artists of the war. Unlike his brother, John favoured a painstaking naturalist style of painting. John Nash died in 1977.

john F. nash, Jr. – Autobiography. My beginning as a legally recognized individual occurred on June 13, 1928 in Bluefield, West
http://www.nobel.se/economics/laureates/1994/nash-autobio.html
My beginning as a legally recognized individual occurred on June 13, 1928 in Bluefield, West Virginia, in the Bluefield Sanitarium, a hospital that no longer exists. Of course I can't consciously remember anything from the first two or three years of my life after birth. (And, also, one suspects, psychologically, that the earliest memories have become "memories of memories" and are comparable to traditional folk tales passed on by tellers and listeners from generation to generation.) But facts are available when direct memory fails for many circumstances.
My father, for whom I was named, was an electrical engineer and had come to Bluefield to work for the electrical utility company there which was and is the Appalachian Electric Power Company. He was a veteran of WW1 and had served in France as a lieutenant in the supply services and consequently had not been in actual front lines combat in the war. He was originally from Texas and had obtained his B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Texas Agricultural and Mechanical ( Texas A. and M.

16. John Nash
Brief biography and photograph of the mathematician.
http://cepa.newschool.edu/het/profiles/nash.htm
John F. Nash, 1928-
When the 21-year old John Nash wrote his 27-page dissertation outlining his "Nash Equilibrium" for strategic non-cooperative games, the impact was enormous. On the formal side, his existence proof was one of the first applications of Kakutani's fixed-point theorem later employed with so much gusto by Neo-Walrasians everywhere; on the conceptual side, he spawned much of the literature on non-cooperative game theory which has since grown at a prodigious rate - threatening, some claim, to overwhelm much of economics itself. When the young Nash had applied to graduate school at Princeton in 1948, his old Carnegie Tech professor, R.J. Duffin, wrote only one line on his letter of recommendation: "This man is a genius". It was at Princeton that Nash encountered the theory of games, then recently launched by John von Neumann and Oskar Morgenstern . However, they had only managed to solve non-cooperative games in the case of "pure rivalries" (i.e. zero-sum). The young Nash turned to rivalries with mutual gain. His trick was the use of best-response functions and a recent theorem that had just emerged - Kakutani's fixed point-theorem. His main result, the "Nash Equilibrium", was published in 1950 in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. He followed this up with a paper which introduced yet another solution concept - this time for two-person cooperative games - the "Nash Bargaining Solution" (NBS) in 1950. A 1951 paper attached his name to yet another side of economics - this time, the "Nash Programme", reflecting his methodological call for the reduction of all cooperative games into a non-cooperative framework.

19. John Nash (1752-1835)
Brief notes on the greatest English architect of the Picturesque movement from Bob Speel.
http://www.speel.demon.co.uk/arch/jnash.htm
John Nash (1752-1835)
The architect of the Regent's Park terraces. John Nash was nearly lost to English architecture, as after training as an architect under Charles Taylor, he was able to retire on being left a large fortune. Fortunately (for us in retrospect), he lost his money through unwise investments in 1792, and was forced to take up architecture again, commencing his own architectural practice in 1793. He found a great patron in George IV (then the Prince of Wales), who awarded him the design of the long terraces around Regent's Park. The views from Regent's Park of the Nash terraces, in the sunlight, is a real treat. Cumberland Terrace (1827) is one of the most impressive, with its many columns and pediment filled with sculpture. It was the last in the sequence, which includes Cornwall Terrace (Decimus Burton, under Nash's supervision), Hanover Terrace (more sculpture), Chester Terrace and York Terrace. Behind, not viewable from the Park, are further streets, and beautiful crescents. On the south side of the Park is one of the earliest Nash crescents, Park Crescent (1812), by Great Portland Street Station. From here, Portland Place runs south, wiggles at Langham Place, and then becomes Regent Street, which was also of Nash's design. The layout remains, with the satisfying sweep round to Piccadilly Circus, but only a few individual bits of Nash's original buildings survive, most notably All Souls' Langham Place, which is still the main feature looking north from Oxford Circus. At the southernmost end of his grand design of this part of London, Nash laid out St James Park, with Carlton House Terrace (1827-28) running along the Mall. Nash remains unique in London in the extent of the large-scale town planning he was able to carry out.
