WELCOME TO OUR MOHR FAMILY PAGE A SHORT HISTORY OF THE MOHR FAMILY The first emigrations from the Hessian provinces of Germany (divided among six rulers) to the Volga region of Russia were most directly caused by the seven Years War, with the resulting havoc and destruction, the war taxes, and the presence of foreign troops. For example, the cities of Kassel and Marburg (in Hesse) were captured and regained five times in the fighting between French and North Hessian troops. On top of all this, the German princes led a life of ease and luxury at the expense of their impoverished subjects. This is shown by the burdensome taxation as well as the acquisition of large sums of money by placing Hessian troops at the disposal of foreign powers, such as the 17,000 North Hessian soldiers who fought in America under the direction of England during the Revolutionary war. For this reason, my ancestors left Germany for their new home in Russia. Answering the invitation by Catherine II Czarina of Russia to settle along the Volga river, hundreds of German immigrants journeyed and set up various colonies there. As time went by around the year 1874, conditions in Russia changed for the German-Russian. The promises that Catherine II had made to the German immigrant, had long since been forgotten by her successors. And now the German-Russian was looking for a new home.

Der Kurfürst von Trier befiehlt den Wiederaufbau der zerstörten Flächen mit den qualitätvollen Rieslingreben. Die unbestrittene "Königin der Weißweintrauben" hat seither ihren festen Platz in den Weinbergen der Familie Mohr. Matthias Mohr übernimmt nach einer Winzer- und Küferlehre sowie nach der Tätigkeit in einer Kölner Weinhandlung den elterlichen Betrieb. Er ist ein "Neuerer" und führt zahlreiche Neuerungen ein. So ist er der erste Winzer in Leutesdorf, der einen Traktor für die Weinbergsarbeit einsetzt. Die Winzermeister Klaus und Friedel Mohr beginnen mit der Arbeit im Betrieb ihres Vaters.

La verità si svela nell'atto interpretativo che nella sua storicità trova non un limite, ma la possibilità di un colloquio con la tradizione ("fusione di orizzonti") che – testo o evento che sia – è comprensibile non in quanto "essere" ma in quanto "linguaggio".
