Helen Anna Georgina Annesley Teer Helen was born at around seven-thirty in the morning of 7 July 1865, in Glasgow, at 35 Grantley Street ( ), where her parents, Bethia Miller and George William Teer, lived with Bethia's mother, Helen Miller. Helen and her parents emigrated to Chile in 1875. Her father died in Valparaiso on 1 June 1881, and Bethia died only months later, on 13 February 1882, also in Valparaiso. Helen, or Elena , worked in or around Chillan, in central Chile, as governess to children of the Zañartu, a branch of the powerful land-owning family. There she met Friedrich Wilhelm Guggisberg ( ), a young Swiss engineer who had been imported by the Zañartu to build a dam for a reservoir near Colicheu. Helen and Friedrich (or Frederick William or Federico Guillermo ) were married in Yumbel, on 25 March 1887. They had five children: Guillermo Enrique (b. 25 Dec 1887), Maria Elena (or Maria Helena ) (b. 20 Jan 1890), Manuel Aristides (b. 14 Jun 1892), Rosa Herminia (b. 12 Aug 1894) and Marta Amalia (b. 3 Feb 1898). Helen died in Yumbel in 1921.

George Washington Miller, p. 1461 GEORGE WASHINGTON MILLER is one of the eminently successful agriculturists of West Bethlehem township, and deserves special mention in this work. His grandfather, Thomas Miller, was of Maryland birth, but early in his career removed, with his wife and family of four children, to West Bethlehem township, Washington county. Here he spent the remainder of his days. At an advanced age he was called from earth, and the community mourned the death of an honest, upright and esteemed citizen. His son, John Miller, was born in 1818, in West Bethlehem township, where he is still known as an honored and beloved parent, an esteemed and respected neighbor. He married Elizabeth Sargent, and to them were born seven children, named as follows: Thomas, Joseph, Sarah, Emma, John, Anna and George Washington, of whom Sarah, John, Anna and George W. all reside in Washington county. George Washington Miller, son of John and Elizabeth (Sargent) Miller, was born April 23, 1843, on the old homestead, where he grew to manhood. and is esteemed by all. The school- houses where he received his early education were primitive to an extreme; the seats being made of slabs hewn from logs, the boys used them as sleds during the noon intermission. On December 27, 1871, he married Amelia Eggy, a daughter of George Eggy, whose father, David, was one of the very first settlers in West Bethlehem township, and was of German nationality. To them have been born children as follows: Harrison, Melville, Gertrude, Stephen, Blanche and Risine, the latter of whom died in infancy, in 1887. The surviving children are all living at home. Mr. Miller is a stanch Republican, and his friends have shown their appreciation of his many sterling qualities by electing him to several offices of trust in his Democratic township.
