FREE HEALTH CARE PROJECT BY MANAVA SEVA KENDRA (An Internationally renowned Service Organization)
UTHARI VILLAGE on the outskirts of the beautiful Bangalore city is the proposed site for a Unique Health Care project. This health care center will become a world famous wonder within a short span of time.
SUKHALAYA - The Temple of Ultimate Health - will be a complete health care center (poorna sukhalaya), with the aim of guiding the Human kind towards Perfect Health at all levels - Body, Mind, Heart and the Intellect.
For the first time in the world, this center is being designed like a Ratha (Temple chariot). Ratha - incidentally, represents the living and moving body of man. The Four Prakaras (concentric circles) of the hospital are like the four pillars of the Ratha - which represent the Waking, Dreaming, Deep Sleep and the Witness state of the human mind.
The outer circle will cater to Allopathic concepts, the first inner circle will cater to the Homeopathic, Ayurvedic and Siddha concepts. The second inner circle will address concepts of healing through prayers and energy healing. The fourth and innermost circle will be the sanctum of absolute SILENCE - symbolising the ultimate Arogya of Man. This sanctum will get rid of even Bhava Roga, the disease of birth and death.

Mettagu's Questions
Translated from the Pali by John D. Ireland For free distribution only The Venerable Mettagu: "I ask the Lord this question, may he tell me the answer to it. I know him to be a master of knowledge and a perfected being. From whence have arisen these many sufferings evident in the world?" The Lord: "You have asked me the source of suffering. Mettagu, I will tell it to you as it has been discerned by me. These many sufferings evident in the world have arisen from worldly attachments. Whoever ignorantly creates an attachment that stupid person comes upon suffering again and again. Therefore a man of understanding should not create attachment, seeing it is the source of suffering." Mettagu: "What I did ask you have explained, now I ask another question. Come tell me this: how do the wise cross the flood, birth and old age, sorrow and grief? Explain it thoroughly to me, O sage, for this Dhamma has been understood [ ] by you." The Lord: "I will set forth the Dhamma, Mettagu, a teaching to be directly perceived, [

3. CATHOLIC ENCYCLOPEDIA: The Laws Of Manu
The English designation commonly applied to the manava Dharmasastra , a metrical Sanskrit compendium of ancient sacred laws and customs held in the highest reverence by the orthodox adherents of Brahminism.

The Laws of Manu
Christian era, though it may possibly be a century or two older. Most of its contents, however, may be safely given a much greater antiquity. Scholars are now pretty well agreed that the work is an amplified recast in verse of a "Dharma-sutra", no longer extant, that may have been in existence as early as 500 B.C. The sutras were manuals composed by the teachers of the Vedic schools for the guidance of their pupils. They summed up in aphorisms, more or less methodically arranged, the enormously complicated mass of rules, laws, customs, rites, that the Brahmin student had to know by heart. Every Vedic school of importance had its appropriate sutras , among which were the "Grihya-sutras", dealing with domestic ceremonies, and the "Dharma-sutras", treating of the sacred customs and laws. A fair number of these have been preserved, and form part of the sacred Brahmin literature. In course of time, some of the more ancient and popular "Dharma-sutras" were enlarged in their scope and thrown into metrical form constituting the so-called "Dharma-sastras". Of these the most ancient and most famous is the "Laws of Manu", the "Manava Dharma-sastra", so called as scholars think, because based on a "Dharma-sutra" of the ancient Manava school. The association of the original sutra with the name Manava seems to have suggested the myth that Manu was its author, and this myth, incorporated in the metrical "Dharma-sastra", probably availed to secure the new work universal acceptance as a divinely revealed book.

Manava was the author of one of the Sulbasutras. The Manava Sulbasutra is not the oldest (the one by Baudhayana is older) nor is it one of the most important, there being at least three Sulbasutras which are considered more important. We do not know Manava's dates accurately enough to even guess at a life span for him, which is why we have given the same approximate birth year as death year. Historians disagree on 750 BC, and some would put this Sulbasutra later by one hundred or more years. Manava would have not have been a mathematician in the sense that we would understand it today. Nor was he a scribe who simply copied manuscripts like Ahmes . He would certainly have been a man of very considerable learning but probably not interested in mathematics for its own sake, merely interested in using it for religious purposes. Undoubtedly he wrote the Sulbasutra to provide rules for religious rites and it would appear an almost certainty that Manava himself would be a Vedic priest. The mathematics given in the Sulbasutras is there to enable accurate construction of altars needed for sacrifices. It is clear from the writing that Manava, as well as being a priest, must have been a skilled craftsman.
