James maclaurin, colin Cheyne. An investigation into fundamental issues concerningourselves and the world we live in. colin Cheyne, James maclaurin.
    http://www.otago.ac.nz/philosophy/papers/100.html
The following is a list of the 100 level, first year papers available in the Philosophy Department in 2004: First Semester, Monday and Thursday, 12.00 noon. James Maclaurin, Colin Cheyne An investigation into fundamental issues concerning ourselves and the world we live in. Does God exist? What is the nature of our minds? Do we have freewill? What is the meaning of life? Second Semester, Tuesday and Friday, 12.00 noon. Alan Musgrave Scepticism is the view that nothing can be known for certain. This course asks whether there is an adequate answer to scepticism. Questions tackled on the way include: Can we prove that ordinary physical things exist? Do we know what will happen tomorrow? Is there something especially certain about mathematical knowledge? What is truth? Click here to view the online course materials First Semester, Tuesday and Friday, 12.00 noon. Kent Hurtig Ethics concerns our reasons for what we do and how we live. Issues include the creation or ending of human life (e.g., unplanned parenthood, abortion, cloning, and 'lifeboat ethics'), and historical injustice. We also assess the role of happiness, consent, law, and religion in ethics; and ideas about the foundations of ethics.
