He acted as a land-agent from 1762 to 1788. He wrote Mathematical lubrications in 1755 and he sent his results on making the differential calculus into a purely algebraic theory to the Royal Society . This work appeared as Residual analysis in 1764. These ideas were taken up by Lagrange Landen investigated the dilogarithm in 1760, about the same time as Euler , and introduced the trilogarithm. The trilogarithm was studied further by Spence around 1809 and Kummer around 1840. Landen wrote on dynamics, summation of series and an important transformation giving a relation between elliptic functions . This last result, known by his name, expressed a hyperbolic arc in terms of two elliptic ones. It was published in the Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society in 1775. Applications of this result appeared in his Mathematical memoirs of 1780.

John Sinclair "evil attacks" LONDON Zunächst nimmt John die Eintrittskarte zum Vergnügungspark. Sie erklärt ihm die Situation und gibt ihm eine Phiole. John sieht sich im Theater weiter um und entdeckt hinter den Kulissen auf einem Regal ein Messer. Mit ihm kann er ein Stück Seil vom Kulissenseilzug abschneiden. Weiters findet er eine verschlossene Metalltüre, wo nur "rohe Gewalt hilft" und eine weitere Türe, hinter der er von einer fetten Frau mit Totenköpfen attackiert wird und derzeit hilflos ist. John verläßt das Theater und sieht sich am Vergnügungspark weiter um. Bei der Bude mit den Luftballons kauft er drei, wirft sie aber auf den Verkäufer, der plitschnaß verschwindet. John geht nun nach rechts zum Faß, leert den Inhalt der Phiole hinein und nimmt dann zehn mal einen der Luftballons, die neben dem Faß liegen und füllt sie im Faß. Nun geht er zurück zu der großen grauen Türe im Theater, öffnet sie und bewirft die fette Frau mit den gefüllten Luftballons. Die Dame segnet das Zeitliche und hinterläßt einen ihrer gefährlichen Köpfe, den John automatisch ins Inventar nimmt. John geht durch die Türe, durch die er den Raum betreten hat wieder hinaus. Er schleudert ihn gegen das braune Metalltor, dessen Türe daraufhin wegfliegt, und nimmt einen Schlüsselbund.

Again, I am working from a microfilm of a carbon copy of a typescript which was prepared for internal use in finding a document. The typescript was never intended to replace the actual document for content. If you find a name in THIS list and want additional information, I imagine (but have not yet had time to double-check) you will want to look at LDS Film # 0249993 which is the actual minute book. Hampshire County does not use a County Council; we have instead a County Commission. It functions *precisely* as a County Council. The people who sit on this entity are called County Commissioners, not Councilpersons. In the list below, the format is : Surname, Given name; year; month day; role; page IN ABSTRACT. The list is alphabetical, or you may use the links, or you may use your browser's search function (usually CTRL-F). But spellings are not normalized. I did standardize what appears in the "role" field as much as possible; some of the entries were pairs separated by "vs", others were separated by "to". In ALL cases the name appearing first in the pair is shown as "plaintiff" and the second as "defendant". One other point *may* be important to someone. The name Andrew Wodrow appears an amazing number of times as plaintiff. He was Clerk of the County Court during this period, and I suspect that most of those entries are job-related, not personal quarrels.
