BLUE GAME 2004 26. april - 14. maj Præstens dagbog fra korvetten NIELS JUEL Forside Så er vi på havet igen efter et dejligt havneophold i weekenden, fuld af gode og spændende oplevelser. Men først lidt om afsejlingen her til morgen. Der var planlagt mønstring på agterdækket umiddelbart efter morgenskafning. Det skulle være optakten til den sidste del af BLUE GAME, men mønstringen fandt aldrig sted. Lidt før kl. 08,00 gik alarmen, og der blev prajet MANØVRERULLE. Omgående skulle vi gå fra havn. FOR ØVELSE var der kommet en bombetrussel mod de norske skibe, som vi lå på siden af og i yderposition, så hurtigst muligt skulle vi afsejle, så de også kunne gå fra havn. Efter BJÆRGNINGSRULLEØVELSE og KLART SKIB FOR TILRIGNING ligger vi nu i skrivende stund ud for Kristiansand og afventer, at den sidste uge af BLUE GAME skal begynde. Jeg kan sige så meget, at der er lagt op til en særdeles begivenhedsrig uge, men herefter er min mund lukket med syv segl. Det skulle jo gerne være spændende at læse dagbogen i de kommende dage. Men nu tilbage til havneopholdet i Kristiansand. Kristiansand blev grundlagt som en fæstningsby af Christian IV og er opkaldt efter kongen selv. Kristiansand er med sine 75.000 indbyggere Norges femte største by. Den regnes for et af de solrigeste steder i Norge, hvilket vi på NIELS JUEL fik at føle her i weekenden. Bortset fra lørdag formiddag, som var meget ”strålende” våd, så skinnede solen varmt og dejligt ned på vores syndige hoveder begge dage. Det gav rig lejlighed til mødes rundt omkring på de hyggelige fortovskafeer, som indehaverne med mange norske kroner i sigte hurtigt havde fået lukket op. Det gælder jo om at udnytte situationen, når drengene fra den norske, tyske, danske flåde går i havn. Hold da op, hvor vi alle fik brug for vores håndører! Sådan er Norge!

Hill, 69, an influential pastor in black Baptist circles and among white conservative evangelicals, died February 24 after being hospitalized with an aggressive form of pneumonia and other ailments, according a spokeswoman at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Los Angeles. A political conservative, Hill often spoke at predominantly white evangelical events (including nearly 20 Promise Keepers rallies) and gave prayers at Republican conventions and President Nixon's second inaugural. But he was also active for years in the civil rights movement. Hill and Jesse Jackson were among young black ministers in the 1960s who campaigned successfully to end the long reign of Joseph Jackson as president of the National Baptist Convention, U.S.A., Inc. Jackson, a Chicago pastor, opposed the tactics of Martin Luther King Jr. * Harold H. What We Do Consultation on Seminary Education On May 30 - June 1, 2001, the ICJS brought together a group of forty-five distinguished faculty and deans representing twenty-one Jewish and Christian seminaries for a two-day meeting to address the dual challenge of educating students in their own religious traditions even as they prepare them for leadership in an increasingly religously plural world. The principle focus of the Consultation was the Jewish-Christian encounter in particular, the theological issues and challenges of religious particularity and pluralism that lie at the heart of that encounter. Museumsinspektør Jakob Seerup, Orlogsmuseet udtaler: Statuen skal ikke forvises fra sin nuværende placering, da monumentet er et markant minde i bybilledet om både Københavns og flådens historie. En flytning vil være ensbetydende med, at kommunen automatisk nedtoner et væsentligt punkt i flådens historie. Placeringen af Niels Juel-statuen symboliserer den betydning Holmens Kanal og Bremerholmen tidligere havde for den danske flåde. Jeg forstår ikke argumentet, at statuen er uhensigtsmæssig for trafikken. Statuen har stået samme sted i over 100 år uden at spærre for trafikken. Det er derfor uacceptabelt at flytte statuen. Orlogsmuseet vil kæmpe hårdt for at kommunens forslag skrinlægges. (JP København)
