This is a development that would subsequently revolutionise learning. The paper industry spreads from Baghdad, to Syria and further West, until it reaches about a century later Europe (Spain) via Morocco.
Mash'allah writes on the Astrolabe. He was one of the earliest astronomers and astrologers in Islam. Only one of his writings is extant in Arabic, but there are many medieval Latin and Hebrew translations of it. From: Khalil, Yasser KhalilY@mail.dnb.com Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahu wa Barakatu, Biographies: Hassan al-Banna (Allah Arhamu) - A great Muslim and teacher of Da'wa Ahmad ibn 'Abd al-Rahman al-Banna, the father of al-Shahid Hassan al-Banna, worked as a watch-repairer in the southern Egyptian town of al-Mahmudiyya. he was also an Islamic scholar that had graduated from al-Azhar University. Imam Hasan al-Banna was the oldest son and was born in al-Mahmudiyya in October 1906. His family was well educated and followed a very strict Islamic lifestyle. The Imam memorised the Qur'an at a very young age and eventually joined the Teachers Training Centre where after a three-year course he came first in his final examinations. He was admitted to Cairo University despite being only 16 years of age because of his intelligence and breadth of knowledge. Hassan al-Banna when asked why he commenced the work of da'wah once commented: Only Allah knows how many nights we four spent(his colleagues) reflecting on the situation of the Ummah; what stages it has passed through and the sickness that has reduced it to its present state. And we pondered on the cures for all the Ummah's illnesses. The Ummah's difficulties painhat e would often end up crying during these nights. In 1927 he took the job of a teacher within a state school at the age of 21. In March 1928, the Imam, his brother and five others gathered at his house and swore to live and die for Islam. The foundation for the Muslim Brotherhood (Jama'at al-Ikhwan al-Muslimun) had now been laid.

JAMAT-E-ISLAMI AND ITS OFFSHOOTS
Why should we expose the evils of all the groups of Al-Jamaa'atul-Islaamiyyah and its off shoots because if you see the Aqeedah and Manhaj of their founding leaders, who are looked upon as mujaddid and great scholars you will be shocked, AND PLUS THEY have led to the birth of destructive political movements, as well as promoting un-Islamic revolutionary modes of thought. the Jamat-e-islami, SIM, SIO, SIMI, Hizb-ut-tahreer, Ikhwaani, IY, ICC etc. they all have same Methodology, means they all have same Manhaj. And would like to respond to those who feel that speaking against deviant pseudo-Islaamic groups is a waste of time and energy is in fact total contradiction to Qur'ân and Sunnah. In Soorah Aal'imraan 3:110 Allah says "you are the best nation raised up among mankind (because) you command the good and prohibit the evil" Commanding the good is not sufficient in itself to earn us the title "best of the nations"

  • Introduction Reformist Feeling in the Islamic World mail@prelude.co.uk Peace in Islam In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate Introduction Praise be to Allah, and may His peace and blessings be upon Muhammad, and upon his family and companions, and all those who follow him. Shihaab It is the right of the new Muslim generation to have access to the writings of this great reformer; especially on this important topic. The attention of western writers, in particular the orientalists, has been directed at this crucial topic; the majority of them view Islam as a religion which was established and spread by the sword. They are certainly mistaken. This book is of two parts, the first part elaborates on the reformist movements in the Islamic World, the causes, then the answer to the question: Is the Islamic threat- a myth or reality? Then he describes the Human Brotherhood concept of Islam. In the second part, the Imam elaborates on Jihad, and why fighting is allowed in Islam. He defines the purposes of war in Islam and answers the commonly asked question: Was Islam spread by the sword? and what steps Islam has taken in terms of guaranteeing peace.

Refutation of Shaikh Ibn Jibreen by the People of Knowledge on the Issue of Qutb and Bannaa
Source: SalafiPublications.Com All praise is due to Allaah and prayers and peace be upon Allaah's Messenger. To proceed. In light of the continued, persistent, unrelenting, incessant use by the Ahl ul-Ahwaa amongst the Qutubiyyoon, Harakiyyoon, amongst the disciples and devotees of Sayyid Qutb, of the statements of some of the scholars, such as Shaikh Ibn Jibreen, in order to discredit the great efforts of Shaikh Rabee' bin Haadee in refuting the chiefs of Innovation of the last century (and which have been met with nothing but praise and recommendation by the great scholars, such as Imaam Ibn Baaz, Imaam al-Albaani, Imaam Ibn Uthaymeen, Imaam Muqbil, Shaikh Salih al-Fawzaan and others), then it is necessary to make Ahl us-Sunnah aware of the following, as a means of giving rest and satisfaction to them, and as a means of further bewildering the Ashaabul Ahwaa - may Allaah restrain their evil and deceit. 1. The Shaikh, Ibn Jibreen got involved with the Qutubiyyah such as Salmaan al-Awdah in the Mis'ari affair (the setting up of CDLR). This changed his perceptions towards some of the Innovators such as Sayyid Qutb and Hassan al-Banna, making him think that they were scholars like the scholars of the past, like Ibn Hajr and an-Nawawi and their likes, who were from Ahl us-Sunnah but erred in certain areas. This whole farce (of al-Mis'ari, Doc. Fitnah) was lambasted by Shaikh Ibn Uthaimeen who called it a route to evil and mischief and the likes. However, what is important is that the Shaikh's involvement with these people influenced his outlook.

AL-'AKAA'ID
- HASAN AL-BANNA ONLINE LIBRARY Al-'Aqaa'id (Islamic Creed) mail@prelude.co.uk Introduction 1- Definition of Creed: People fall into many categories regarding the strength or weakness of their beliefs, on the basis of the clarity of the proofs and their hold on their minds. To explain this point I will cite the following examples: If someone hears of the existence of a country which he has never seen before, such as Yemen for example, from someone else not known to be a liar, he will accept and believe that such a country does exist. If that person hears the same thing from a number of people, his belief will be strengthened (even though this will not stop him from doubting his belief if he has a reason to do so). If he sees a photograph of that country his conviction of its existence will be strengthened even further and doubt will be difficult in the face of such strong proof. If he travels and sees signposts to that country his conviction will be strengthened still further and doubts will dissipate. If he visits that country and sees it with his own eyes then there will be absolutely no room for doubt and his belief will be consolidated so strongly that he will never give it up even if all people unanimously believe otherwise.

- HASAN AL-BANNA ONLINE LIBRARY mail@prelude.co.uk Jihad Preface In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, and may his peace and blessings be upon Muhammad and upon his household and companions, and all those who follow him. Though jihad may be a part of the answer to the problems of the ummah, it is an extremely important part. Jihad is to offer ourselves to Allah for His Cause. Indeed, every person should according to Islam prepare himself/herself for jihad and every person should eagerly and patiently wait for the day when Allah will call them to show their willingness to sacrifice their lives. We should all ask ourselves if there is a quicker way to heaven? It is with this in mind that this booklet is being published. This is an important booklet for three reasons: firstly, it deals with an important issue - that of jihad. Secondly, it is important because it has been written by one of the most prominent Mujahideen of this century - Imam Hasan al-Banna, and thirdly it is important because it deals with an issue that the ummah seems to have misunderstood or forgotten.
