History of mathematicians
In this document we give some information of mathematicians which work or names are used in the course wi4010 Numerieke methoden voor grote lineaire algebraische stelsels . The course is based on the following book
Matrix Computations
Gene H. Golub
and Charles F. Van Loan
Johns Hopkins University Press, Baltimore, 1983
Theory
In order to be able to measure distances with respect to vectors and matrices we have defined normed spaces. Most of the spaces used in this course are Banach spaces Stefan Banach (1892-1945) . For the vector norms different choices are made. An important class of norms are the so-called Hölder norms Otto Ludwig Hölder (1859-1937) . For the special choice p=2 we get the Euclid norm Euclid ( 295 b.c.e.- ) . With respect to matrix norms we consider norms derived from vector norms. Furthermore we mention the Frobenius norm George Ferdinand Frobenius (1849-1917)
Furthemore we use spaces where an inner product is defined. Most of these spaces are Hilbert spaces David Hilbert (1862-1943) . Using the Hölder inequality we show that the Euclid norm satisfies the Cauchy-Schwarz inequality Augustin-Louis Cauchy (1789-1857) and Karl Hermann Amandus Schwarz (1843-1921)
Direct methods to solve linear systems
We start our description of direct methods for solving linear systems with the Gauss elimination method ( Carl Friedrich Gauss (1777-1855) ). Thereafter we discuss the Cholesky (

THE STORY OF MARSINA DORTHEA LARSEN BLENCH
by Leona Dorthea Mayberry Fletcher, 1970 Dorthea was born 11 November 1842 in Tolne, Hjorring Denmark. Her father Jorgen Larsen, was born 5 September 1812 - her mother, Bertha Marie Anderson born 26 December 1811, died 19 Jul 1865 Molholm, Tolne. She had one Brother, Jans Larsen Jorgensen, older, who was born 14 June 1839. He went into the Army to serve the King, as that was the law in Denmark. The Danish were afraid of the Germans, but he married a German girl, and although we do not know her name, we have her Picture. He apparently died abt 1890. We have no record of any Children. Altho her name was Marsina Dorthea, she always went by the name of Thea, as a nickname, and Dorthea as her mainly used name. Three of her granddaughters are named after her, Dorthea Elizabeth Jardine, called Libby - who married Frank L. Hammond; Eliza Dorthea Blanch, daughter of Joseph Blanch - who married Parley Le Wagstaff, and Leona Dorthea Mayberry, who married Samuel Y. Fletcher. As of 1-13-2001 she has 229 descendents that we have record of. We are thankful for her life and the great effect her life has had on her descendents.

Transmission and Persistence of Actinobacillus Actinomycetemcomitans in Twins with Advanced Periodontitis
A set of twins with severe loss of periodontal attachment and the same amplitype of A. actinomycetemcomitans is studied. By Peter A. Russo, DDS; Hessam Nowzari, DDS; and Jorgen Slots, DDS, PhD
The arbitrarily primed polymerase chain reaction technique (AP-PCR) was used to fingerprint Actinobacillus actinomycetemcomitans and Porphyromonas gingivalis isolates in 44-year-old African American male and female twins who had not lived in the same household for 26 years. Both twins exhibited severe loss of periodontal attachment on several maxillary and mandibular teeth. All isolates of A. actinomycetemcomitans yielded the same AP-PCR banding pattern, whereas the P. gingivalis isolates from each twin showed different AP-PCR profiles. The finding of the same amplitype of A. actinomycetemcomitans in both twins suggests a single source of the organism and possibly a persistence of the organism in each twin for at least 26 years. Journal of the California Dental Association
Actinobacillus actinomycetemcomitans
is a gram-negative, capnophilic coccobacillus that resides in supra- and subgingival plaque, tongue dorsum, buccal mucosa and saliva.1,2

Faith was founded back in 1984 by the three guys that have been the heart of the band ever since: Roger Johansson - guitars, Christer Nilsson - bas and vocals and Peter Svensson - drums. The first year another guitar player, Jorgen Thuresson, was also a member of the group. The idea with the music was not to beat any speedrecord whatsoever but to make extremly heavy songs. The first compositions were based on Roger´s dark chord-changes and Christer´s lyrics that mainly were taken from Swedish history and lore. These first songs were recorded two cold days in January -85. Quite soon after the first demo the band started the hard work of experimenting with weird beats and even more crazy chord-changes. After a tremendous amount of rehersals the "Faith"-demo was recorded. However, the first day was in the abcence of Jorgen who had to rest since he broke his nose the night before at a graduation party (!). The result of this demo was pretty close to symphonic rock, however, yet very heavy. During the summer of -85 Jorgen left the band and the music became a bit more back to basics. The tempo increased and the songs were simplified. After Jorgen left, Roger Berntsson joined the band and took over the microphone and after some "serious saving" Faith had the financial possibility of producing their own first record. The result was a two-track single that was named "Hymn of the Sinner", a guitar-based production somewhat close to the first demo in style. After just few months Roger Berntsson left the band due family reasons and Zenny Hansson took over. Zenny was a wonderful singer with really amaizing voice-resources. Unfortunately, other bands agreed with this and the richest of them - Destiny - gave Zenny an offer he couldn´t refuse. He therefore packed his things and moved to Gothenburg to join them.

ZAHEDUL ISLAM Hundreds of private cars, microbuses, pick-ups and vans are plying illegally on a rental basis in the country, resulting in staggering losses, running into crores of takas, to the state exchequer.
Sources in the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) said that these vehicles are registered as private, and are meant for the use of the owners only.
“The vehicles meant to ply on hire basis have to be registered as ‘contract carriages’, obtain route permits and regularly pay taxes imposed by the BRTA,” said a top official of the organisation to New Age.
The vehicles for carriage contract should charge Tk.6 from a passenger for each kilometre. Moreover, according to the BRTA, the vehicles can carry a maximum of nine passengers. The officials also said that if the vehicles owners want to use their vehicles for rent-a-car business, they must take commercial licences from the BRTA. The bodies of the vehicles should be painted black and the hoods yellow, said the official.

I have delivered VLF Reciever's to all this country's: United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, Russia, Luxembourg, Sweden, United States, France, Australia, Denmark. Many people have also been asking me about advise how to build and use my reciever's, so how many VLF Reciever's of my type working around the world will be difficult to tell, but I'm pretty sure there are a lot of them. Jorgen's VLF Page Naturally Occurring ELF/VLFRadiosignals My Hompage about Naturally occurring radiosignals in the ELF/VLF area... Last opdated: This page is about a really special kind of radio listning, to recieve radiosignals from our own world, surely its about recieving naturally occurring radiosignals in the ELF/VLF area (200-22000 Hz.) on this extremly low frequency's, you can hear a lot of special natural phenomens like "whistlers", "chorus", "Tweeks" and other not so easy to explain radiosignals. (A whistler recorded at "Aunoe" 08112002213404UTC) This page are very inspired of a expert at the area, the American Stephen P McGreevy, he have been working with recieving this kind of signals for many years. The signals you can recieve are normally comeing from Lightning storms, Aurora (Northen & Southers light) and the magnetic fields of the Earth. Statics in the atmosphere is becourse of thunderstorms, there are always about 1500-2000 thunderstorms here at earth and it is possible to recieve a tunderstorm at a distance of about 2000 Kilometer's, so there should always be something to listen at. The phenomen the "Whistler" came from a ligthning stroke at the other side of the earth and the atmosphere are rechargeing again. Other specially phenomens you sometime can hear here in Scandinavien is "Hiss" a very long whistlers coursed by Aurora.
