Israel Zangwill was one of JFS's most eminent former pupils.
David Woolf Marks, the eminent 19th century Reform Minister and Hebrew Professor, was one of many former JFS pupils to achieve eminence.
Throughout its history, the school has striven to offer the highest educational standards to pupils from less privileged backgrounds, turning out a succession of eminent ex-pupils. Among the most notable was Israel Zangwill , who maintained a close connection with the school throughout his life.
Other former pupils include David Woolf Marks, the first Reform Reverend in Britain and professor of Hebrew Literature at University College, London in the mid-19th century; the eminent academic and Zionist Selig Brodetsky; the artist Mark Gertler; bandleader Joe Loss; Bud Flanagan of the inter-war comic duo Flanagan and Allan; actor David Kossoff; the television personality Alfred Marks; and MP and government minister Barbara Roche.
They, and countless other former pupils, have recognised the role the school had in transforming their lives.

Among violent incidents mention should be made of attacks against Jews in Britain, France, Poland and Belarus, attacks in Britain and anti-Semitic slogans written on Jewish facilities and institutions in Britain and Atlanta/U.S. Threatening messages continued to be recorded in various countries in Europe and South America. There were no new manifestations of propaganda. Accusations against Jews and Jewish facilities continued to appear in various publications, over the Internet and in the street in different places throughout the world. In the sphere of struggle, for the first time the Danish police enforced the law against racism to stop Nazi propaganda.

Year Jewish Agency for Israel Israel top June 29 : "Black Saturday". A large-scale operation by the British authorities takes place against the Yishuv leadership and the Haganah. The leading figures in the Jewish Agency are arrested, and 3,000 members of the Haganah. Searches are carried out in the offices of the Jewish Agency, the Labor Federation and in 27 settlements. At Yagur , a large arms cache is discovered. The "important" prisoners and the women are detained at the Latrun camp. More than 2,000 other prisoners are held in the camps at Rafah. "Black Saturday" was the most extensive and violent operation against the Jews of Palestine.

The Jews' Free School, founded in London's East End in 1732, and for the past forty years situated in Camden Town, is one of London's and Anglo-Jewry's oldest and most outstanding institutions. In 1900, with more than 4,000 pupils, it was the largest school in Europe (and most probably in the world).
Between 1880 and 1900, one third of all London's Jewish children passed through its doors. many arrived unable to speak English. The School, the best equipped elementary school in England, gave them a refuge and a means of escape from poverty, educated them in both secular and religious studies, anglicized them, and sent them out into the world fitted to take their part in society, from Barney Barnato to Bud Flanagan and Alfred Marks, from Israel Zangwill and Selig Brodetsky to 'Two Gun' General Cohen. This book sets the achievements of the men, women and children who took part in its story in the wider context of the history of London, of Anglo-Jewry, and of the development of English national education.
