NMR spectroscopy is possible with almost any element of the periodic table. Those that we have experience of are highlighted in the table below and can be selected for further information. If the nucleus you are interested in is not listed it means that we have no experience of it. All elements (except argon) are suitable for NMR and our NMR service will accept other nuclei. Periodic Table Illustrator
here , or by anonymous FTP at ftp.optc.com/pub/software/PTViz.sea.bin.
Using PTViz
When you start PTViz, it displays an unadorned periodic table in "Normal" format. The normal format contains chemical symbols, atomic numbers and atomic weights. You can change the display by clicking on parts of the table and selecting options from the menu. PTViz displays three basic formats:
  • Compact, containing only the chemical symbol. This is small enough to fit on half a page. It's most useful when used with the decoration features described below. Normal, with the chemical smbol, atomic number and atomic weight. This will fit comfortably on a landscape page. Extended, containing the information in the normal chart, plus the name with room to add other properties. This is most useful with a large screen, or with a graphics program to pick and choose parts of it. If printed, it would take about two-thirds of a B- or A3-size page.
Select from among these alternatives using the View menu. The View menu also allows you to select between IUPAC and non-IUPAC group designations, to color groups, and to suppress chemical symbols. This last is useful for tests or worksheets.

This is the premiere computerized periodic table of elements. It now contains 115 elements, with 800+ isotopes and 500+ radioactive decay trees. You can graph element properties and print nearly every window. It also contains a molecular weight calculator. The element names have been updated to conform to the recently approved IUPAC names. Periodic Table is designed for use by individuals ranging from students of chemistry, chemistry hobbyists, industry professionals, and researchers as well as educators. It has a quiz mode. Compare bond properties of the elements. List element properties in sorted lists. Graph the element properties. Print the table, data, and radioactive decay trees. It provides detailed and comprehensive element information ranging from abundance, melting/boiling points, to oxidation states and more. Perfect for use by chemistry and education professionals. A chemical nomenclature quiz has been added to the four existing quizzes. Periodic Table has a tool bar and status bar for ease of use. Context sensitive help is available throughout the program. Legends stay put and their position is remembered between sessions. The main window remembers its position and size from one session to the next. Three different group name standards are supported and can be set by the user.

3D Periodic Table of Radii Structure Database
Chime Radii Now Works with Internet Explorer 6
Periodic trends in the radii of elements and their ions are a common topic in general and more advanced inorganic chemistry courses. As an inorganic chemist I like to think of the periodic table as three dimensional, involving both elements and their oxidation states. Here is a depiction of radii of elements and their ions as a Chime www page. You must obtain Chime for your browser. Then view this page and try the various options in the right frame. Note that you can also manipulate the image by using your mouse in the left frame. As currently displayed, the radii are those collected in the periodic table database program "KC? Discoverer" for the Journal of Chemical Education: Software". This display was developed using RasMol and the model Chime pages of Eric Martz.
The color scheme obtained with the top "all radii" button is related to the charge on the atom and atoms with each charge type are presented as a plane and a color:
+3 ions are red and are the smallest for a particular element. They are furthest forward.

37. What Is The Periodic Table?
Back to the periodic table. What is the periodic table of The Elements? Theperiodic table is the most important chemistry reference there is.
http://pearl1.lanl.gov/periodic/what.htm
What is the Periodic Table of The Elements?
" It is a huge, efficient resource! "
The periodic table is the most important chemistry reference there is It arranges all the known elements in an informative array. Elements are arranged left to right and top to bottom in order of increasing atomic number Order generally coincides with increasing atomic mass The different rows of elements are called periods. The period number of an element signifies the highest energy level an electron in that element occupies (in the unexcited state). The number of electrons in a period increases as one traverses down the periodic table; therefore, as the energy level of the atom increases, the number of energy sub-levels per energy level increases. Using the data in the table scientists, students, and others that are familiar with the periodic table can extract information concerning individual elements. For instance, a scientist can use carbon's atomic mass to determine how many carbon atoms there are in a 1 kilogram block of carbon. People also gain information from the periodic table by looking at how it is put together By examining an element's position on the periodic table, one can infer the electron configuration. Elements that lie in the same column on the periodic table (called a "group") have identical
