It is my goal in setting up this page to attract more people, who are interested in searching for the answers of their life, not to limit themselves within the scope of traditional Western philosophies, but to open themselves to some alternatives offered by several schools of Chinese philosophy. But, since there're countless on-line materials on the Internet that're about Chinese philosophy, and some of which I am not aware of, I would greatly appreciate it if any of you can point them out to me. Also, all suggestions and comments are welcomed and greatly appreciated.

Chad Hansen's Chinese Philosophy Pages Daoist-oriented interpretations This site contains segments of an extended interpretive theory of Classical Chinese philosophy that takes Daoism (Taoism) as the philosophical center . The interpretive theory turns on a new, more philosophical reading of the Daoist philosopher Zhuangzi (ChuangTzu ). My analysis highlights skeptical and relativist themes in his thinking. The crucial novelty is the assumption that Zhuangzi was a philosopher of language , like his close friend and philosophical interlocutor, Hui Shi , . He was deeply engaged with the linguistic and other insights of the Later Mohists (sometimes called Neo-Mohists or Dialectical Mohists) and the School of Names . His relation to the other famous Daoist, Laozi (Lao Tzu) is rather more indirect but their views are complementary in that both deal wi th dao guide at a higher level than do Confucians or Mohists. The site also contains my related writings about Confucianism

Scientific Method and Philosophy of Science
29 Sep 2001 23:26 reductionism emergence squabble falls under this discipline, too. But (so far as an outsider can judge), method is where most of the debate is these days. Of course, most scientists proceed in serene indifference to debates in methodology, and indeed all other aspects of the philosophy of science. What Medawar wrote thirty years ago and more is still true today: If the purpose of scientific methodology is to prescribe or expound a system of enquiry or even a code of practice for scientific behavior, then scientists seem to be able to get on very well without it. Most scientists receive no tuition in scientific method, but those who have been instructed perform no better as scientists than those who have not. Of what other branch of learning can it be said that it gives its proficients no advantage; that it need not be taught or, if taught, need not be learned? (Actually, has do statisticians Some or all of this may or may not have close connections to history of science , the social and cultural relations of science , and evolutionary epistemology . I would contend that there are certainly close ties to the sociology of science and machine learning, statistical inference and induction
