Medical Imaging Science - Nuclear Medicine (MSc)
These programmes are accredited by the Consortium for Accreditation of Nuclear Medicine Education (CANME) and the Consortium for Clinical Magnetic Resonance Education (CACMRE). They lead to a professional qualification in nuclear medicine or magnetic resonance imaging and a postgraduate diploma or Master's degree. The first year consists of a total of seven taught weeks interspersed with six blocks of clinical placements of approximately seven weeks duration. Your clinical placement is normally undertaken at your own place of work. During your academic study at the University, you are taught through a combination of lectures, tutorials, practical demonstrations; certain elements of course work are practice based. There are also periods set aside for private study and use of the library and computer centre. Your work is assessed through a variety of methods, including essays, case studies, presentations, examinations and a research dissertation or project.

Imaging Science Research Division (ISRD)
The Digital Medical Imaging Program is the Division of Imaging Science Research of the Department of Radiology, College of Medicine, and the medical imaging analysis program of the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute. The program was created to promote research and develop new methodologies for medical imaging as applied to detection, diagnosis, and therapy. The overall goals of the program are:
  • To identify from images, patient-related data, and clinical outcomes the medical imaging areas in need of further development and optimization. To combine basic science resources, imaging tools, clinical expercise in the development of novel solutions to a specific medical imaging problem. To stimulate synergistic interactions among physicists, engineers, physicians, mathematicians, statisticians, and other imaging related disciplines leading to novel, state-of-the-art, comprehensive approaches in the detection, diagnosis, and treatment of disease. To foster interactions among basic and clinical researchers to translate basic findings of promising new technologies that lead to clinical investigations.

UK Industrial Vision Association will be hosting two days of free technical seminars at the forthcoming new Imaging Science section of the Photonex 03 exhibition
The UK Industrial Vision Association (Ukiva) will be hosting two days of free technical seminars at the forthcoming new Imaging Science section of the Photonex 03 exhibition as part of the Association's sponsorship of this new event.
With different programmes on each day of the show, the aim is to keep visitors up to date with the latest in imaging technology.
Although entrance to the seminars is free, places are limited, so pre-registration via the Ukiva website is strongly recommended.
This will not only guarantee entry but also ensures registrants collect their copies of the presentations on CD-Rom on the day.
Ukiva director Don Braggins commented: "Developments in sensor and camera technology feature strongly in the technical programme and include the evolution of intelligent cameras (complete vision systems in a single enclosure) and CMOS colour image sensors.

Hyperspectral Imaging Science Applications are invited for up to three Graduate Research Assistantships for students to work in the MTU Hyperspectral Imaging laboratory and to pursue PhD thesis research under the supervision of Dr. J. Bruce Rafert, on studies involving both hyperspectral instrumentation and hyperspectral data exploitation. Successful applicants will posses a strong background in physics, mathematics, optical system design and/or signal processing. A strong interest in hyperspectral imaging and remote sensing is required. Experience with IDL, ENVI, IRAF, data reduction, and/or analysis of imaging and spectroscopic data is desirable. A stipend of $15,000-$19,000 per year (depending on qualifications) is provided as well as full tuition and fee support. Students from both U.S. and foreign universities are eligible to apply.
