The Graduate Program in Cell and Developmental Biology at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver offers training leading to the Ph.D. degree. Students in the program undertake a rigorous curriculum of classroom instruction and laboratory research that will prepare them to become independent scientists in biomedical research. We have an outstanding faculty of basic and clinical scientists who are committed to research, discovery and teaching. The graduate program has particularly strong groups in the areas of cell biology developmental biology stem cell biology neuroscience ... molecular biology and molecular structure , and research related to human disease . The faculty and students within the program are studying both basic principles within these fields using tractable experimental systems such as cell and tissue culture, model organisms such as mice, zebrafish, Drosophila, and C. elegans, as well as applying fundamental discoveries from these systems to the more complex problems of human disease. The faculty and students in the program are highly interactive and collaborative, fostering numerous opportunities for interdisciplinary research and novel experimental approaches.

Department of Anatomy and Developmental Biology University College London BSc (Hons) Biology of Fertility and Embryo Development Entry requirements: Degree Programme:
In the first two years of the degree students gain a broad introduction to anatomy and developmental biology. All first-year courses and most second-year courses are compulsory and many are shared with other degree programmes in the Faculty of Life Sciences. A single optional course is available to students in the second year of the degree, chosen from among many possible options both in the Sciences and in the Arts and Humanities. Second year students also follow a course in the Ethics of Fertility and Embryo Research. In the final year students have further choices alongside structured courses: compulsory courses in Embryonic and Fetal Pathology and Mechanisms of Development, and options selected courses such as Advanced Anatomy, Cellular and Developmental Neurobiology, Chronobiology (Biological Timing), Advanced Cell Biology and many others. Third-year students also join one of the departmental research groups, for two terms, to work on an original research project. Degree Structure Year 1
