Since 1977 the Institute was renamed with its present name, the Institute of Molecular Biology. It is situated in the eastern part of Sofia, at the heart of a large constellation of academic institutes that forms the major campus of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences
At present in IMB work over 150 employees, including 7 full professors, 9 associate professors, over 50 assistant professors, research associates, postgraduate students and many technicians.
IMB is the leading national institution in the field of molecular biology, molecular genetics, cell biology, biochemistry and bioorganic chemistry. Its achievements in these and related areas are documented in several hundred scientific papers published in international journals. IMB participates in many international collaborative projects that proves the high quality of the research carried out in it. Many of the projects are financed by EC, ICGEB, NATO, UNESCO, and other international organizations.
Since 1990 IMB is a member of the Global Network for Molecular and Cell Biology (MCBN) at UNESCO.

The Biology WorkBench is a web-based tool for biologists. The WorkBench allows biologists to search many popular protein and nucleic acid sequence databases. Database searching is integrated with access to a wide variety of analysis and modeling tools, all within a point and click interface that eliminates file format compatibility problems. If you encounter any problems or find any bugs in the Biology Workbench, and are unable to send a bug report from within the software, please send a report to bwbhelp@sdsc.edu
Enter the Biology Workbench 3.2
Set up a free account (required, but painless) Biology Workbench Testimonials: in order to maintain the Biology Workbench, and perhaps obtain funding to improve (i.e. redevelop) the Biology Workbench, we would like to ask for testimonials from our users. If the Biology Workbench has helped you in your research or in your classes, please send us a paragraph or two about it. All testimonials are welcome, but we would especially like to hear from professors whose research groups have benefited from the Biology Workbench, and from instructors whose classrooms have been enhanced by the use of Biology Workbench examples. Please send your testimonials to bwbhelp@sdsc.edu

Papers describing research results should conclude with a section outlining the implications for management or management-related research. Similarly, papers about management issues should address the requirements for research.
There are three categories of manuscript:
  • short (less than 1000 words): news and correspondence items;
  • contributed papers (typically 2000 to 10000 words); and
  • forum essays (1000 to 4000 words) and reviews (less than 10000 words). Please refer to the Notes for Contributors for specific instructions on manuscript preparation.
