Looking for something with a new scope?
Check out the Orion Nebula during winter months! Wonderful Saturn Viewing!
New Years Eve... This photo was taken using an Orion color video camera recorded on VHS and then pushed through a Hauppage WINTV image capture interface to Arcsoft video processing software. The image size and resolution was reduced from 247 kb to 3 kb using Adobe Photoshop so this page loads faster. Each step of the process took some details away. Yellow orange and gray lines could be seen along with a shadow of the ring when viewed at the sight. The weather was great at the SCAS/Radio Control site on New Years Eve! At 7:30 PM there were at least a half dozen of us there to view the planet Saturn, as well as the nebula in the constellation Orion.

    CUYAHOGA ASTRONOMICAL ASSOCIATION
The Cuyahoga Astronomical Association is an amateur astronomy club, established in 1957. Our club is open to the public to people with an interest and desire to learn more about astronomy. Our membership ranges from junior high school students to senior citizens. We hold a general meeting on the Second Monday of each Month at 8 PM in the Cleveland Metroparks' Rocky River Nature Center, located 1/4-mile north of Cedar Point Road on the Valley Parkway in North Olmsted, Ohio. Information on monthly meetings, scheduled talks and current events can be found in the CAA newsletter, The Observer Public Programs and Star Parties are open to the general public and are usually held at at one of three sites in the Cleveland Metroparks, Brecksville Road, Bradley Woods or Lewis Road. Programs in Medina County are usually held at Letha House Park. Private Star Parties are open to CAA members and their guests. These observing sessions are usually held at Medina County's Letha House Park. We are in the process of building our observatory at the Letha House site in Spencer, Ohio. The observatory was dedicated in the Summer 2001.

    http://members.aol.com/warhawk57/saaaa.html
San Angelo Amateur Astronomy Association, Inc. Click here for SAAAA's Home Page Some information on our club Our present membership consists of approximately 30 members. Club meetings are held at seven p.m. on the first Tuesday of the month in the Angelo State University Planetarium, located in the Physical Sciences Building. Meetings usually consist of a general review of current astronomical events, a brief reading of past club meeting minutes, and an astronomy program presented by a club member of a video presentation. The club owns three telescopes: a 12 inch Cave reflector, an 8 inch Celestron reflector, and a 6 inch Dynascope reflector. These telescopes were originally owned by Dr. Moon and were eventually donated to the association. A small library containing back issues of different astronomy magazines and a number of hardback books covering a variety of historical and technical subjects are available for checkout by club members. Membership in the club is open to anyone. Light pollution and trees which block the sky within the city have become an ever growing hazard to "backyard" astronomy. For these reasons the club periodically sponsors a "Star Party" which is our opportunity as a group to take our telescopes and meet at a location outside San Angelo where the city lights are not as bright. Distances travelled are not generally more than ten miles or so.
