The Air Quality Division (AQD) of the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) implements the state and federal Clean Air Acts. As part of this implementation, the agency recommends adoption of rules, promotes compliance efforts, enforces rules, and develops pollution prevention strategies to reduce emissions and improve air quality. An EPA-approved State Implementation Plan (SIP) provides strategies and procedures for the daily operations of AQD. This SIP is reviewed and amended as necessary.
