Complex Terrain Applications
Air quality models are used to describe how pollutants emitted into the air are transported downwind and to predict the ground level concentrations of the pollutants. It is difficult to accurately predict downwind concentrations because the nature of air movement is very complex. Heating and cooling of the air, obstacles such as buildings or hills that have to be negotiated by the air, and chemical reactions for pollutants such as ozone or acid rain, all add layers of complexity. Earth Tech air quality scientists are internationally recognized experts in the area of air quality modeling and model development. They have developed or enhanced many widely-used air quality and meteorological models, including CALPUFF, CALMET, CALGRID, BLP, ISC3 (downwash and deposition), CTDMPLUS, OCD, and KSP. Several of these models have been accepted by the US EPA as 'Guideline' models recommended for regulatory use. Our scientists have published numerous journal articles and books, conducted modeling workshops, and participated in scientific conferences worldwide. This position at the leading edge of modeling and scientific technology enables us to assist clients find cost-effective solutions to today's complex environmental issues. Many companies can apply routine air modeling techniques, but few, if any, can match our skills in developing, refining, and customizing models to meet client needs.

A Canadian consulting firm offering services in air dispersion modeling (including odor dispersion), stack sampling, and environmental permitting. Most of Lehder's modeling work for clients utilizes the U.S. EPA's Industrial Source Complex Short Term Model Version 3 (ISCST3).
http://www.lehder.com/airquality/air_dispersion.html
Atmospheric Dispersion Modelling Atmospheric Dispersion Modelling is a widely accepted regulatory tool used to assess environmental impact from a facility for a variety of contaminants and under numerous meteorological conditions. Many regulatory agencies assess ambient air compliance using dispersion modelling. Facilities can use this tool to predict the potential impact of modified or new processes, new products and new sources even while still in the design phase, and plan for abatement or mitigative measures. Desktop computer modelling is a rapidly advancing field that uses specialized computer programs to predict ambient concentrations from a facility. LEHDER Environmental Services conducts most of its modelling assessments for clients using the USEPA models ISCST3, ISCSTPrime or AERMOD. These are all models that are capable of computing ground level concentrations at specific downwind receptors under a variety of meteorological conditions, emission scenarios and changes in topography. The ISCST models are the most widely used in North America and have been accepted by many jurisdictions as a regulatory model. AERMOD is a more recent model which is still in the process of formal evaluation and acceptance by the USEPA. Dispersion modelling is often a requirement for attaining Air Permits and Certificates of Approval . LEHDER applies modelling expertise in this area for a wide range of clients. Modelling for proactive self-assessment is another area LEHDER excels in, allowing clients to identify potential problems before they arise and to employ appropriate solution development.

Overview
ISC-AERMOD View is a complete and powerful Windows air dispersion modeling system which seamlessly incorporates 3 popular U.S. EPA models into one interface: ISCST3, AERMOD and ISC-PRIME. The Industrial Source Complex - Short Term regulatory air dispersion model ( ) is a Gaussian plume model and is widely used to assess pollution concentration and/or deposition flux on receptors, from a wide variety of sources. AERMOD is the next generation air dispersion model which incorporates planetary boundary layer concepts. Further information about this model can be found by clicking here The Industrial Source Complex - Plume RIse Model Enhancements ( ISC-PRIME ) dispersion model is similar to the ISCST3 model but contains enhanced building downwash analysis.
Features
ISC-AERMOD View has an integrated modeling environment : intuitive data input, model run, and full featured post-processing, with automatic gridding, blanking, contour plotting, and posting of your results. Graphical input , where you can use your mouse to graphically define the location of stacks, receptor grids, discrete receptors, and the plant boundary.
