We offer a progressive alternative to the Catholic tradition. We are the direct descendants of the original church of the Apostles, the same church that is the root of Roman Catholicism, a denomination with which we are not affiliated. The ACC affirms traditional Catholic beliefs of faith, love, spirituality, community and prayer. We celebrate the Seven Sacraments, adhering to the essentials of Catholic doctrine. The ACC proclaims the unconditional love and compassion of God, which embraces us regardless of our state or condition in life. We acknowledge the primacy of the gospel of Jesus the Christ, and the power of the Holy Spirit to speak in our day through the "sense of the faithful." Eastern Orthodox St. Andrew's Orthodox Church

Pastor Neal O. Zeilinger , interim, was ordained a pastor of the American Lutheran Church in 1974 and he and Rhonda served on the mission field of Papua New Guinea for five years. As a pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, he served parishes in Iowa, Kansas, and Missouri until 1999, when he resigned the clergy roster of the ELCA. Since his college days, Neal has been deeply concerned about the treatment of non-heterosexual people have received in this culture but remained inactive. Rejection of a gay-friendly study by an ELCA national committee increases his desire to be an instrument for change but it took a reformation of his personal life to enable his present ministry. He has served as the lay-interim pastor of this congregation since 1999. He holds a full-time secular job in the Cape Girardeau community. Neal and Rhonda were married in 1971. They have two daughters.

Legal Gay Marriages at MCC Portland!
In the latest seismic shift in the legal landscape, Metropolitan Community Church of Portland (MCC Portland) was thrust into the spotlight again, when the Multnomah County Commissioners announced on Tuesday, March 2, 2004, that they would issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples. On Wednesday, March 3, 2004, Rev. Glenna Shepherd, senior pastor of MCC Portland, conducted individualized wedding ceremonies for 11 same-sex couples at MCC Portland starting at 6:30pm, which were the first-ever legal marriage ceremonies conducted for same-sex couples at MCC Portland. According to Betty Nelson, long-time member of MCC Portland, joy erupted in the crowd of about 75 onlookers, amid a distinctly spiritual experience.
In addition, Rev. Shepherd also performed many same-sex weddings at Keller Auditorium in downtown Portland on Wednesday, March 3 and Thursday, March 4, 2004; the events there were organized by Basic Rights Oregon, a statewide GLBT political organization. Rev. Shepherd was also one of 30 clergy members from gay-supportive congregations in the Portland area, who conducted a news conference at Keller Auditorium on Friday, March 5, 2004. Additional same-sex marriage ceremonies are scheduled at MCC Portland throughout the weekend of March 6-7, 2004.

Who are we? We are a denomination of Christian churches called the universal fellowship of metropolitan community churches (UFMCC).
http://www.mccomaha.org/mccomaha2_003.htm
Who are we? We are a denomination of Christian churches called the Universal Fellowship of Metropolitan Community Churches (UFMCC). The UFMCC began in 1968 as a group of twelve men and women meeting in a living room in Los Angeles. It has grown to over 42,000 members and friends, worshiping in over 300 churches, and in 15 different countries around the world. At MCC-Omaha you will find a family who want to share God's unconditional, all encompassing love with you. Metropolitan Community Churches are inclusive. All persons are welcome at our services, regardless of sexual orientation, sex, race, or previous denominational affiliation. While our primary outreach is to the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered community, our doors are open to all. MCC Omaha was founded in 1974. Moving through a series of worship locations, MCC Omaha continued to grow. In 1982, the congregation purchased its first church building. Eventually outgrowing that space, we purchased our present building, located at 819 S. 22nd Street, in July 1992.
