The primary purpose of the Apostolic Coalition ( APCOAL ) is to educate and inform Apostolic Pentecostals on how they can participate in their government. The Apostolic Coalition also serves to educate and inform our government on what Apostolic Pentecostal citizens desire in their government . The Apostolic Coalition is a nonprofit 501 (C) (3) organization. It's offices are located in St. Louis, Missouri and in Washington, DC.
The Apostolic Coalition is headed by it’s Executive Director, Rev. Jeff Snyder, who grew up in an Apostolic Pentecostal Church. Rev. Snyder pastored several years before feeling the call into political ministry. Rev. Snyder splits his time between ministering in churches throughout out the United States and meeting in Washington DC with our elected representatives. Rev Snyder has a wife, Darlene, and two daughters.
At the Headquarters office in St. Louis, Rev. Snyder has an administrative assistant, Mr. Asa David Coulson, who heads the Apostolic Coalition’s administrative division and several volunteers. The Apostolic Coalition mails out a weekly newsletter called the

    Pentecostalism
By Gary E. Gilley Pentecostalism has become the fastest growing segment of Christianity. "It is growing at a rate of 13 million a year, or 35,000 a day. With nearly a half billion adherents, it is, after Roman Catholicism, the largest Christian tradition" ( Christian History , "The Rise of Pentecostalism," issue no. 58, vol. XVII no. 2, p.3). In addition, the largest church in the world (the Yoi Do Full Gospel Church) is a Pentecostal church in Korea, pastored by David Yonggi Cho , with a weekly worship attendance of 240,000. Two Pentecostal Churches in Buenos Aires attract together 150,000 each week (ibid.). Just who are the Pentecostals, how did they originate, and what do they believe? The intent of this report is to answer these questions.
    Pentecostal History
Most consider the father of Pentecostalism to be Charles Parham, a young college student from Kansas with roots in the Methodist Church. While the Wesleys (John & Charles) could not be defined as Pentecostals, their theology laid the foundation upon which the Pentecostal movement would be built. Principally, it was the Methodist view that sanctification was a second work of grace, separate from salvation, coupled with the Holiness belief of a third experience, the "Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire," that intrigued Parham. Parham was also influenced by a fresh desire within his denominational circles to experience divine healing and speaking in tongues practices that most Christians at the end of the nineteenth century believed had ceased with the Apostolic age.

    http://www.altupc.com/UPCHistory.htm
A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE UNITED PENTECOSTAL CHURCH
The United Pentecostal Church was formed through merger of a number of Oneness Organizations in 1945. In the years 1901-10 or so, a number of “Pentecostal” outpourings occurred in the United States. Those most often cited, and remarkable in history today were in Topeka, and later in Los Angeles. Within a few years, men traveling largely from city to city, through Northern California, Oregon, Washington, to Illinois, Ontario, Saskatchewan, Ohio, New York, Main and New Brunswick on one hand, and in places too numerous to recount through the South East, but to a large extent in Texas, Arkansas, Missouri and Louisiana, brought the message and experience of Pentecost to those who would receive it. In those early years of this century, by apparent providence, a number of immigrants brought the same experience from Armenia, and other desperate areas of the world. Given the short period of time, quite a large number of people became “tongue-speakers”, manifesting spiritual phenomenon, and being taken up with deep devotion and intense prayer and faith. Of course, this experience hit humanity, and thus the memories include both wonderful testimonies, and the stories of problems. Indeed, the second chapter of Acts records the outset.

    PENTECOSTALISM AFTER AZUSA:
    some historical notes
ver. : 27 August 2001 Get happy with one of the following:
    LIFE AFTER THE AZUSA REVIVAL
The dimming of the Azusa Street revival by 1908 would have ordinarily spelled trouble for a young movement, especially if it were tightly organized. But the Pentecostal movement had rolled past Azusa, into the Pacific Northwest and the Southeast. There were now plenty of elsewheres to go. Schools, book and pamphlet printers, traveling evangelists, musicians, camps, and an absolutely sizzling network of word-of-mouth communication, all sprung up almost overnight seemingly out of nowhere. (This was before air transport and mass electronic media; cars were few and slow, package delivery technology was crude, and many of the areas where Pentecostalism grew fastest did not yet have electric or telephone service.) Pentecostalism's lack of organization served it very well. There were also plenty of others than Seymour and Parham to lead them. Some of them were charlatans, others honestly held bizarre 'the-end-is-here' beliefs. But there were many capable leaders who were faithful and able to step up to the front, like Charles H. Mason

Pentecostal Holiness Church, International United Pentecostal Church BEGAN : In 1901 A.D. by C. F. Parham, a Methodist, and intensified in 1906 by W. J. Seymour at Azuza Street in L.A. Calif. The word "Pentecostal" is a broad designation for the movement of churches including the Assemblies of God, Pentecostal Church of God, Foursquare Gospel, Open Bible Standard Churches and others, who emphasize "Baptism of the Holy Spirit" and "Speaking in Tongues." WORLDWIDE MEMBERSHIP CHURCH GOVERNMENT : The Pentecostals are usually governed by local pastors, elders and deacons; and overseen by superintendents. MAJOR DOCTRINAL EMPHASIS : Pentecostals emphasize the "Baptism of the Holy Spirit," usually as a second work of grace (post-conversion), rather than a work of grace at the time of conversion as most mainline Denominations believe. This must be "evidenced" by ecstatic utterances of "speaking in tongues," usually not understood to be known languages. These are different from those spoken by the disciples, and recognized as known languages by the hearers, on the Day of Pentecost, when the Church was born.

    Genealogy of Christian Faith Communities
The following chart shows a timeline of some of the events which lead to the multiplicity of Christian denominations. The chart is constructed to scale, so that each century takes the same amount of vertical space (with the exception of a slight vertical expansion for 1510-1530 to include the various Protestant denominational origins.) Note that there were long periods of time during which the interpretation of the Bible and doctrine were discussed and resolved without division into different communities.
