Thought for the day... The Thought for the Day: “The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want.” Psalm 23:1
Are there any words that exist more loved than the words of the 23rd Psalm? Framed and hung in halls everywhere, scratched on prison walls, whispering words of comfort to the dying, recited by the very young; in fact, sometimes the first words besides “Jesus Loves Me” that children learn. In these lines men have found refuge, the fearful have found safety and comfort, and those struggling in their faith have found the answer.
And because these words are so deeply loved and widely known, it is hard to find someone who has not heard. “The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want” has been put to music in a hundred songs, translated into a thousand tongues and rooted in a million hearts. One of these hearts must surely be yours.
The Lord is my Shepherd, and I am His sheep. And I am so grateful!
