Pantheist Order of Sisters, studying elements of paganism and witchcraft, ordained in service to the heathen Community.
    http://www.sisterhood2.homestead.com
The Order of the Hearth is a Pantheiste Order established by Sisters of The Dark Moon. Three Stones Abbey, supported by the Order of the Hearth, is the first Abbey of the Order. It is completely self-governing. Sisters do not report to any superior, but govern equally and by vote.
The Sisterhood is currently open to new members, who have been recommended by other Sisters, or by the Order's affiliates, Acceptance of any new Sister is by unanimous vote.
For the Sisters to earn credentials of ordination, they must each present proof of clear understanding of the studies of the Order, and must compose a thesis on subject of their choosing.
Sisters may establish other circles or hearths so long as the same outline of study and the same procedures are used to ensure proper credentialing.
It is the intention of the Order to be available to the Heten Community and to serve it collectively through networking, as well as to serve individually according to conscience.
This Order is currently associated with one other brotherhood other than the brotherhood supporting ordination process.
Both the Sisterhood and the credentialing organizations are pantheiste, non-secta

    Who are the Heathen?
    Summary
We often think of the heathen as a native living in the middle of the jungle, someone who has never heard the gospel. In reality, there could be more people in this group than what you think, including your neighbor.
Chapter: 13.01 (Section 13: What about those "Without the Gospel?") Bible Help .org The morning steam rises from the dense foliage of the Brazilian rain forest as Yoma, a young brave, steals through this Amazon jungle in hopes of securing a meal. Yoma spots his target. Carefully he inserts a poison dart into his blowgun and fires. Moments later a monkey falls from a tree. As Yoma pulls the dart from the monkey, he thanks his god for supplying his needs. Yoma’s belief in a supernatural being differs greatly from that of fundamental Christianity. The only religion he knows is what has been taught to him by his tribe. Yoma has no knowledge of Jesus Christ or what He has done on the cross.

    Discipline of the Secret
(Latin Disciplina Arcani ; German Arcandisciplin A theological term used to express the custom which prevailed in the earliest ages of the Church , by which the knowledge of the more intimate mysteries of the Christian religion was carefully kept from the heathen and even from those who were undergoing instruction Protestant and the Catholic side. The origin of the custom must be looked for in the recorded words of Christ: "Give not that which holy to dogs; neither cast your pearls before swine; lest perhaps they trample them under their feet, and turning upon you, they tear you" (Matt., vii, 6), while the practice in Apostolic times is sufficiently vouched for by St. Paul's assurance that he fed the Corinthians "as . . . little ones in Christ", giving them "milk to drink, not meat", because they were not yet able to bear it (I Cor., iii, 1-2). With this passage we may compare also Heb., v. 12-14, where the same illustration is used, and it is declared that "solid food is for the perfect; for them who by custom have their senses exercised to the discerning of good and evil." Although the origin of the custom is thus to be traced back to the very beginnings of Christianity , it does not appear to have been so general, or to have been carried out with so much strictness in the earlier centuries as it was immediately after the persecutions had ceased. This may be due in part to the absence of detailed information with regard to the earlier period, but it is probable enough that the discipline was growing more strict all through the second and third centuries on account of the pressure of persecution, and that, when persecution was at last relaxed, the need for reserve was felt at first, while the Church was still surrounded by hostile Paganism, to be increased rather than diminished. After the fifth or sixth century, when

Atrios, who is one of my favorite heathens*, has an uncharacteristically long post up that I want to shout approval of, and then look at from a slightly different angle. He describes, and quotes at length from, an NPR report on John Kerry and Catholic voters which contains at least two errors there are more, but these are the most important to me that ought to cause any reasonable person to question the objectivity, and basic competence, of the reporter, Barbara Bradley Hagerty. The first is the bizarre remark that Kerry must convince voters that he's a good Catholic. That would be an indefensible statement even if she were only talking about Catholic voters. But she isn't. Baptists, Methodists, Buddhists and atheists are, in this woman's mind, also eager to know whether or not Kerry is a "good Catholic." (Non-Catholics, feel free to let me know in the comments section if this is an important issue to you.) But even the idea that Catholics are concerned about that is deeply insulting. Heathen
From Wikipedia , the free encyclopedia.
Heathen often used as a synonym of paganism , originally meaning someone who lived in the wild, uncultivated heath of Scotland or in the jungle. Also, just like the word pagan it became to mean a person holding on to the old customs and beliefs, often used in the pejorative sense of heretic or unbeliever Nowadays it is the term which adherents of Heathenry , the revival of the ancient Germanic religion , also known as Asatru , wish to identify themselves. In parts of the Midwest region of the United States , a heathen is a (usually young) person who acts in a particularly wild or rude fashion. Heathen is also the name of an album by David Bowie This article is a stub . You can help Wikipedia by expanding it Views Personal tools Navigation Search Toolbox Other languages

I met him first in a hurricane; and though we had gone through the hurricane on the same schooner, it was not until the schooner had gone to pieces under us that I first laid eyes on him. Without doubt I had seen him with the rest of the kanaka crew on board, but I had not consciously been aware of his existence, for the Petite Jeanne was rather overcrowded. In addition to her eight or ten kanaka seamen, her white captain, mate, and supercargo, and her six cabin passengers, she sailed from Rangiroa with something like eighty-five deck passengers Paumotans and Tahitians, men, women, and children each with a trade box, to say nothing of sleeping mats, blankets, and clothes bundles. The pearling season in the Paumotus was over, and all hands were returning to Tahiti. The six of us cabin passengers were pearl buyers. Two were Americans, one was Ah Choon (the whitest Chinese I have ever known), one was a German, one was a Polish Jew, and I completed the half dozen. It had been a prosperous season. Not one of us had cause for complaint, nor one of the eighty-five deck passengers either. All had done well, and all were looking forward to a rest-off and a good time in Papeete.

Welcome to the Heathen Mentors Project
The Heathen Mentors Project exists to provide new heathens with someone they can talk to. Mentors are slightly more experienced heathens, who have volunteered to answer questions, and generally reach out a helping hand to people who want someone to talk to about heathenry. We aren't experts. We don't have all the answers. But we can answer questions and help you make sense of your experience. There's no question too "dumb" for us; and if your questions are beyond us, well, we might just know someone else who can help you. You don't have to be a heathen to talk to us. We are happy to talk to people who are simply trying to decide whether heathenism is for them. Send email to heathen-mentors-requests@worldash.org to ask us a question, or start a conversation about your experience with Heathenry. Or if you wish, you can contact any of us directly (click on the volunteer's name).

:: Sunday, May 30, 2004 :: I got back from my trip to Kentucky late Saturday night. I had quite a lot of fun, though there were a few moments of sobriety mixed in.
I had forgotten how beautiful Eastern Kentucky really is. Driving down, I had all sorts of strange flashes of memory from when I was little. It’s hard to explain if you’ve never been around mountain highways, and I wish I would have taken a picture now, but the methods they use to cut roads in the mountains, leave this almost stair-like formation on the rock walls. When I was little, I used to think that giants lived on top the mountains, and they’d use the steps to go up and down. And when you’d see the signs warning “beware of falling rocks,” I’d think it meant that the giants would sit up top of the mountain, throwing down rocks to try to hit the cars. I thought it was like Atari for giants.
