Church Madison, Wisconsin Seventh Day Baptist History
1650 - Present by Rev. Don A. Sanford
author of A Choosing People: The History of Seventh Day Baptists , Broadman Press, Nashville, 1992 Seventh Day Baptists are a covenant people based on the concept of regenerate membership, believer's baptism, congregational polity, and scriptural basis for belief and practice. Seventh Day Baptists have presented the Sabbath as a sign of obedience in a covenant relationship with God and not as a condition of salvation. They have not condemned those who do not accept the Sabbath but are curious at the apparent inconsistency of those who claim to accept the Bible as their source of faith and practice, yet have followed traditions of the church instead. Seventh Day Baptists date their origin with the mid-17th century separatist movement in England.

The UAFWBC Story
he Free Will Baptist Church is not a movement which has sprung up within the past few years. History accords a place for this movement as far back as the early seventeenth century. An entire church, consisting of pastor and congregation, came from Wales and settled on the Delaware River on what was known as Welsh Tract. From this group came several men who preached the Arminian doctrine in contrast to the prevailing Cavinistic doctrine of the day. One of these men, Paul Palmer, is credited with organizing the first Free Will Baptist Church in 1727 in Perquimans County, N. C. The work in the northeast was instituted under the leadership of Benjamin Randall, who organized the first Free Will Baptist Church in the area in New Durham, N. H., in June 30, 1780. The General Conference of Free Will Baptist was organized in 1827.
Upon the emancipation of the Negro slaves, many churches were organized having all black memberships and ministers. In the year 1898, the first Negro General Conference grew into the United American Free Will Baptist Conference, Incorporated in the year 1968. CHURCH HISTORY (recorded by Rev. S. H. P. Edmondson)

general baptist conference. Includes history, schedule, and announcements.
http://www.mentorbaptist.org/
Welcome! Mentor Baptist Church is a Baptist General Conference church in Mentor, Ohio. We have 100 people for worship on Sundays and have 50 in children and youth programs throughout the week. We feature Biblical preaching combined with a blended music style. We also feature leveled Sunday school classes and small groups. What does this mean? We want to be able to reach and teach anyone who comes into our ministry by meeting them at their place of spiritual need. Therefore, our Sunday school classes and small groups are taught in different formats for different levels of understanding. Mentor Baptist is an elder-led church that is about 60 years old. We are located just of the corner of 306 and 84, north of I90. We have recently been challenged to look at the needs of our community. We currently are trying to impact our community through praying for the Mentor school system, participating in "Hearts and Hands", "40 Days of Purpose", a spring block party, and "It's Better in Mentor" festival. We are calling people to find their purpose in life and making an impact for the Kingdom of God. We believe transformation is found in Jesus Christ. People first experience being forgiven through God's grace, and are called to a transformed life. This happens through the power of the Holy Spirit, intake of God's Word, and life with God's people.

Prefatory Note
Upon the recommendation of the Committee on Denominational History the Seventh Day Baptist General Conference at its annual session in authorized the Committee to have reprinted certain historical literature, which on account of its age had become very scarce and difficult of access. In this was included the early minutes of the General Conference. The minutes of the first few sessions of the General Conference were not printed, and the manuscript minutes and accompanying documents became scattered, and many of them lost. Such of them as could be found remaining were gathered and published in the Sabbath Recorder beginning February 3, 1881, along with suitable explanatory notes written, as we are informed, by the Rev. Jonathan Allen, D. D., LL. D., at that time president of Alfred University. They were again reprinted in the Sabbath Recorder beginning November 16
