Math Art Project 1999 School of Art East Carolina University Greenville, NC Overview East Carolina University School of Art in collaboration with the East Carolina Department of Mathematics started a project in 1996 to investigate the relationship between Geometry and Art. What characteristics are shared? What characteristics are different? These are questions Dr. Cynthia Bickley-Green and Dr. Phil Phillips of ECU School of Art sought to answer. Mathematics and Art teachers from all over eastern NC were asked to participate in the study that involved students from area schools in grades K-12. Dynamical Systems and Fractals This is an announcement of a new interdisciplinary course at Oklahoma State University on symbolic and analytic dynamics, with an overview of fractal geometry.
