to teachers, professors, schools, universities. use my e-mail to reply

Since ' Inwards to Chaos ' (ITC) can be freely downloaded (no shareware,no costs), I would suggest to anyone teaching complex dynamics to be supported by this program for educational purposes I would be really happy if you e-mail me what you'll use it for My efforts would be surely lightened up. I started coding ITC for helping me in discovering and understanding the deepest « misteries » related to complex fractals and dynamics. I hope that you do it so; if not, just have a good and funny travel in this amazing colored images. Alessandro Rosa PROGRAMMERS Some code I used to build INWARDS can be downloaded from C++ section. Download the Latest Release : Bug fixing and/or New features ... Suggestions, questions are very appreciated. Don't be anonymous, write me! Contact me at my e-mail : zandor_zz@yahoo.it

Dynamics and Control of Underwater Robotic Vehicles:
Our research objective is to develop control algorithms to enable highly precise closed-loop maneuvering of underwater robotic vehicles. Closed-loop control of underwater vehicles is complicated by incompletely understood propulsor and vehicle dynamics, and the difficulty of state measurement (vehicle position and velocity) necessary for closed-loop control. Our methodology is to address these fundamental enabling theoretical issues for the next generation of remotely operated and autonomous underwater vehicles, and to experimentally verify our research results in actual working systems. Underwater Vehicle Propulsor Modeling and Control: We have developed the most precise reported finite-dimensional nonlinear model for the unsteady dynamics of marine thrusters, experimentally validated this model, and compared its performance all previously reported dynamical models. We are presently employing our models to develop and experimentally validate model-based adaptive thrust controllers for marine thrusters. To perform this research we have developed a thruster test facility providing precise high-bandwidth 6-axis force/torque sensing and acoustic doppler fluid flow sensing, as shown below. Supported by ONR under ONR Young Investigator Award N0014-97-1-0487 and NSF under CAREER Award BES-9625143.

    Dynamical Networks in Complex Systems
A Europhysics Conference by the European Physical Society (Statistical and Nonlinear Physics Division)
    July 25-27, 2001
    University of Kiel, Germany
Scope of the conference Pressemitteilung (press info, in german) Networks of many interacting units are observed in complex systems from such diverse areas as physics, biology, economics, ecology, and computer science. This conference brings together researchers from different disciplines interested in dynamics of networks and their structure, as well as those interested in new theoretical concepts to model, predict, and control network structure and dynamics. Topics of interest include complex economic or social interactions, as well as networks in communication and traffic, and the internet. Biological topics include molecular networks in the genome and the immune system, as well as neural networks and ecological webs. The frame of the conference is formed by the common underlying principles of network dynamics and their theoretical description. Theoretical topics include modeling networks as dynamical systems, network morphogenesis and self-organization, as well as new graph theoretical aspects and network reconstruction from experimental data. Conference presentations will provide an overview of the phenomenology of networks with new findings from different fields and will draw a state-of-the-art picture of theoretical methods and approaches. One important goal of the conference is to initiate interdisciplinary exchange between researchers, both experimentalists and theorists, in this new emerging field.
