Of particular interest are boundary values and mapping properties of analytic functions of one complex variable; applications of functional analysis to complex function theory, such as multivariable operator theory and H p -theory; and classification of singularities of complex spaces. Functional Analysis The research interests of the functional analysis group include abstract harmonic analysis on topological groups (multipliers, spaces of functions, Banach algebra structures, ergodic theory, analysis on topological groups); operator algebras (C*-algebras, analytic flows, connections with K-theory and algebraic topology); Banach spaces (classification up to isomorphism, operator spaces, probability theory on Banach spaces); and spaces of analytic functions (H p spaces, rational approximation on various domains).

Abstract to talk "Some Uncertainty Inequalities in Harmonic Analysis, and the Mathematical Statement of Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle"
Can a function and its Fourier Transform both be well localized? Not really. I will make this more precise in a variety of ways. Can we find a different orthonormal basis for L so that a function and its transform relative to our new basis are both well localized? It's not a wave decomposition; it's... wavelets! This possibility will be discussed a little at the end of my talk, after I say a bunch about Fourier transforms.

Abstract
An approximate harmonic analysis method of nonlinear circuits is introduced. The method solves the steady-state time-domain representation as well as the frequency response of nonlinear circuits. It allows simulation of nonideal switched capacitor circuits composed of any kinds of linear components and nonlinear transistors as switches. All switches must have the same period, but they can be opened and closed at any time. The method proposed may also be applied to mixer analysis for the case of strong LO and weak RF signal. Examples are given to demonstrate that the method is efficient and sufficiently fast to be used in circuit design. The simulation results show good agreement with those obtained by harmonic balance and transient analysis.
