Bohannon HAZLEHURST -Bohannon- Janet Julia Mims Bohannon, 79, died Nov. 19 at Jeff Davis Hospital. She was a lifelong resident of Jeff Davis County and the widow of William J. Bohannon. She was a retired seamstress formerly employed with Hazlehurst Manufacturing Co. SURVIVORS: three daughters, Kathryn Bohannon of Warner Robins, Gail B. Moye of Douglas and Pam Wimberly of Vidalia; a son, Richard R. Bohannon of Woodstock; a sister, Inez Culpepper of Hazlehurst; a brother, Wendell Mims of Hazlehurst; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. VISITATION: beginning at 6 p.m. today at Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home, Hazlehurst. FUNERAL: 2 p.m. Sunday at Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home, burial in Eureka Baptist Church Cemetery. James F. Nov. 18 Jazz Concert at UNO to Feature Debut of Omaha Area Youth Jazz Ensemble
The Omaha Area Youth Jazz Ensemble (OAYJE) will make its debut Monday, Nov. 18, at UNO. The concert, which also will feature the UNO Jazz Ensembles, will begin at 8 p.m. in the Milo Bail Student Center Ballroom.
Tickets are $3 for the general public and $2 for students. The event is free for UNO students, staff and faculty.
The OAYJE, an audition only group, is directed by Darren Pettit, an artist-faculty member at UNO. It is made up of the finest high school music students in the Omaha area. The group will perform several concerts each semester on campus and in the community.
The award-winning jazz ensembles at UNO make regular appearances at nationally recognized jazz festivals, in addition to state and regional conferences. Two big bands and jazz combos are available to all UNO students through auditions. The UNO Jazz Ensembles are directed by Pete Madsen, coordinator of jazz studies at UNO. He has performed extensively in jazz, pop and classical venues, and is in high demand as a guest artist/clinician.

Further, the lower courts were created by the Congress and can be eliminated by the Congress. A nuclear solution would be for Congress to dissolve the lower courts and let scotus handle every federal case. Further, the federal courts had no jurisdiction over criminal cases until the mid 19th century, when Congress arbitrarily gave them that right. Congress should simply rescind this right. Funeral services were held September 20 at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Greensboro, N.C. Burial followed at Lake View Memorial Park Cemetery. A reception was held at the Church of the Holy Spirit, where Mr. Chappell was a founding member. Born August 13, 1954, in South Boston, he was the son of the late William Burton 'Billy' Chappell Sr. and Eva Brown Chappell. During his illness he was a volunteer at the American Cancer Society. Mr. Chappell is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Carlton Chappell; one daughter, Erin Elizabeth Chappell; two sons, William Burton Chappell III and Seth Philip Chappell, all of the home; one sister, Penny Chappell-Lloyd and his brother-in-law, David Jesse Lloyd, of Halifax. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John Phillip Chappell, Florrie Chappell Moore, Richard 'Doc' Brown and Mary Ellen Brown.
