Bees, now a WSU piano professor, was then a doctoral student at the University of Colorado. In the past few years Taylor has emerged as one of the nation’s foremost young musicians. Audiences and critics alike hail the intensity and artistry he brings to the works of masters ranging from Bach and Beethoven to Boulez and Bolcom. The Washington Post, for instance, deems Taylor "one of the most impressive young pianists on the horizon today." His program includes works by Ludwig van Beethoven, Olivier Messiaen and Robert Schumann. In recent seasons Taylor has performed in France, Korea, Spain, the Philippines, and the Caribbean. In the United States he has appeared with such orchestras as the New York Philharmonic, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Detroit Symphony, St. Louis Symphony, Atlanta Symphony, Houston Symphony, Utah Symphony and Boston Pops, and has toured with the Polish Chamber Philharmonic.

Under the direction of founder James Bolle, Monadnock Music offers performances from accomplished artists taking a break from the big-city concert scene.
The festival officially runs from July 10 through August 29 and offers more than 30 concerts: a ticketed Festival series in Peterborough, NH, plus 17 free concerts in nearby Monadnock Region towns and villages.
Most major concerts take place at the Peterborough Town House, and this year is no exception. Tickets for town house concerts range from $10 to $24.
Highlights of the 2004 Town House programs include a performance of rediscovered early music, recitals from some major keyboard artists, and concerts of new music by contemporary composers, including Bolle himself.
On Saturday, July 31, the Blue Heron Renaissance Choir will perform English music from the Renaissance period, including a newly discovered mass by Robert Jones, conducted by Scott Metcalfe.
Featured is the five-voice Missa Spes nostra by the entirely unknown composer Robert Jones. The music of Robert Jones survives only in part books that were copied circa 1540.
The tenor partbook of the set has been missing for hundreds of years. But the recent reconstruction of the part by the English musicologist Nick Sandon provides a chance to hear, for first time since the 16th century, the complete piece.

Russell Robinson, who originally played with the ODJB). They were all bandleader-composers who sang their own tunes. Much of his earliest works ( well over 100 ) echoed the sound and feelings of Negro spirituals, including such songs as "It's Never Too Late To Pray", "Truthful Parson Brown", "Religion In Rhythm", and "The Devil Is Afraid Of Music", this latter song is still performed as a 'popular' song today. All through his career, Willard sang mostly semi-comical Blues songs, and songs that spoke of the daily life in the 1920's. and of the pastoral preachers and small towns of mid-America. His music is often described as laconic and occasionally as narcoleptic. Thought's of his country home was an ever-present ingredient for his songs.
