and the second from Op.55). Mozart was a favourite, Beethoven less so. His attitude towards his contemporaries was ambiguous at best. He was cool towards Schumann, never reciprocating the latter’s enthusiasm for his own music. And his admiration for Liszt was tinged with jealousy. But perhaps the most important aspects of his personality were his insecurity and his indecisiveness (many letters to his parents in which he expresses his hesitation between going back to Poland to fight alongside his countrymen or staying in his new adopted home attest to this trait). This "folie du doute," his inability to make up his mind, actually permeates many of his works and is even reflected in his harmonic language, making him by far one of the most original harmonists of his time. The second Prelude Op.28 in A minor

Antonio Janigro
Antonio Janigro, the great Italian cellist, was born on January 21, 1918, in the via Guido d'Arezzo in Milan. Janigro said of himself in a 1988 interview with Oreste Bossini: "I was born into a musical, yet tragic, atmosphere. My father had wanted to be a concert pianist, but had lost his left arm to a sharpshooter in a war. Janigro studied piano first, starting at the age of six, and then began playing the cello in 1926, when he was eight years old. He was given a cello at that time by Giovanni Berti, who also gave him his first lessons. He fell in love with the cello immediately. In less than a year he had progressed enough to be admitted to the Verdi Conservatory in Milan, where he studied cello with Gilberto Crepax. When he was eleven years old, through the efforts of his mother Nicola, he found the opportunity to play for Pablo Casals (1929). The result was that Casals gave him a recommendation to Alexanian in Paris, who was teaching Casal's classes at the Ecole Normale from 1921 to 1937. Casals wrote: "A brilliant instrumentalist with a fine sense of style, and, I hope, sufficiently determined, he should become a shining exponenet of our chosen instrument." Janigro waited until 1934, when he was sixteen years old, and then moved to study at the Ecole Normale. Along with Casals and Alexanian, he came into contact with other great cellists and musicians: Cortot, Thibaud, Paul Dukas, Nadia Boulanger, Stravinsky and others. Dinu Lipatti and Genette Neveu were his fellow students.

My Favorite Composers
By Huiyuan Ma J.S. Bach
Of course he is my number one! His keyboard works, written for the piano (harpsichord), organ, clavierchord... are numerous. I just love all of them. I played his , and also some from the famous Well-Tempered Clavier . Since I switched from the piano to the organ, I played some of his short pieces, from some hymns. You can't imagine his talent unless you take pain to practise and analyze them! Regarding listening, I favor his cantatas, as well as St.Mattew Passion, St.John Passion, Christmas Oratorio, B Minor Mass... And his organ works, (most of which are still too advanced for me to play), are also extraodinary at his time. I like his 6 trio sonatas (BWV 525BWV 530) most.
Franck, César (1822 - 1890)

Gustav Mahler (18601911)

I'm never terribly interested in Post-Romantic composers, but this guy is an exception. I love all his works, including all the tremendous symphonies and lieders. His music is so penetrating to me, I find myself in the complicated but alluring melodies. One thing interesting to notice is, people who dislike him really don't want to lisen to him, but who love him are really obssesed by him. I am a big fan of Mahler, and he is the greatest symphonic composer to me, no matter how many people critisize his confusing structures.:)
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791)

He is definitely hailed by all the listeners, no matter you are a musician or a person doesn't care classical music. I grew up with his piano sonatas, in which there is full of energy and happniess, so pure, so delicated, you can't tell how hard his life was. And those concertos written for the piano, violin, wind instruments, also chamber music, etc., wow, how could this guy write so much? And he was said to be a party animal!

Pianist
A pianist is a person who plays the piano . A professional pianist can perform solo pieces, play with an orchestra or smaller ensemble , or accompany one or more singers or solo instrumentalists . A performing classical pianist usually starts playing piano at a very young age, some as early as three years old. Many well-known classical composers were able pianists themselves; for example, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Ludwig van Beethoven Franz Liszt Frederic Chopin ... Robert Schumann , and Sergei Rachmaninov were all virtuoso pianists. Some pianists have special preferences as to which composer's music they play. Most western forms of music can make use of the piano. Consequently, pianists have a wide variety of forms and styles to choose from, including jazz classical music , and all sorts of popular music .

Jahrhunderts.
