Annually, the TCC involves over 300 young people, 6-17, performing in the Chorus or developing vocal skills in its training choirs. The TCC repertoire includes a wide range – from sacred works of the Renaissance to contemporary pieces from diverse cultures and traditions. The Chorus has inspired audiences in Europe, Australia and New Zealand as well as throughout North America. A joyous experience awaits us when we welcome the TCC to the Imperial stage to open our concert season! Kutrowatz Piano Duo Concert tours have taken Austria’s Kutrowatz brothers to a veritable “who’s who” of grand venues – the Musikverein in Vienna, Carnegie Hall in New York and Wigmore Hall in London, to name a few. What a thrill it will be to have them performing here in Sarnia on our superb new Yamaha 9-foot concert grand piano! This magnificent instrument was purchased in the spring of 2002 thanks to a much-appreciated grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation. Renowned for their exquisite artistry and technical perfection, and hailed as a “shining double star”, Eduard and Johannes Kutrowatz promise us an evening of brilliance.

Schubert 200 in Washington DC
January 27, 1997 – The Altenberg Trio, "concert celebrating 200 years, Franz Schubert" at the Austrian Embassy, in Washington, DC. They performed the Piano Trios D929 and D898. The Altenberg trio has recorded the World premiere of the "unabridged version" of the Trio in E-flat major, Op 100/D929. This version is about a third longer than what we are normally used to hearing, but, as Claus-Christian Schuster, the pianist of the group assured us that night, they have played the complete version to many audiences, and "there have been many survivors". This CD is available from Vanguard Classics, The Netherlands. A very good evening. January 30, and February 13, 1997, Notturno , parts 1 and 2, at the Embassy of Austria, Washington, DC. "To commemorate the 200th Anniversary of the Birth of Franz Schubert". If you haven’t seen this movie, you MUST see it. Notes from the program: "this breathtaking movie is based on an in-depth study of biographical and musical sources and is internationally recognized as one of the best analytical portraits of a composer. Its soundtrack is outstanding and includes samples of Schubert’s quartets and symphonies, as well as piano compositions and his last mass." The first part, titled "Die Liebe hat gelogen", contains many beautiful scenes of young people dancing, gliding down a river, revelling in the open air. When the first evening ended, there was applause from the audience. Part 1 was like a "feel good" movie. The second part

1 September 2001 VIENNA-BERLIN-LONDON
The Trails of Creativity 1918-1938
A Major London Festival in 2001
A major three-month festival organised by the Austrian Cultural Forum will mark the unique cultural links that connected Vienna, Berlin and London between the wars. It will be held in London commencing 5 October, running until 10 December 2001. In between, there will be a whole range of smaller events at venues in and around London, most of them free of charge, which will focus on every aspect of this fascinating era. Michael Zimmermann, Director of the Austrian Cultural Forum, explained: The period immediately following WWI was one of the most fascinating, culturally, in the 20th century. An incredibly diverse and vibrant cultural milieu flourished and the cultural cross-fertilisation between London, Vienna and Berlin led to some extraordinary developments in all branches of the arts. This festival will explore them in detail and present many UK premieres as well as major, rarely heard works to London, some for the first time in over sixty years. An educational programme will run concurrently with the main Festival events.

April 14, 2002: The recital of Helmut Wildhaber (Tenor) had to be canceled because of illness of the singer. May 3, 2002: Till Fellner, piano Enthusiastic applause was the reward for the young pianist who swept the audience with his interpretation of Beethoven's Waldstein Sonata, sound jewels Olivier Messiaen's Petites esquisses d'oiseaux and Liszt's Années de Pélerinage, Premiere Année - Suisse. Unfortunately our piano refused to cooperate fully, developing a squeaking pedal that could not be fixed in even two attempts. May 25, 2002: Altenberg Trio Wien A welcome opportunity for the world famous trio to prepare for a new CD production gave us a wonderful concert for our audience, getting to know both piano trios by Camille Saint-Saëns (Trio Nr. 1 F-Major op. 18,Trio Nr. 2 e-minor op. 92). At the beginning there was Joseph Haydn, Trio B-major, Hob XV/20. June 16, 2002: Birgid Steinberger (Soprano) and Eduard Kutrowatz (Piano) The well-known member of Vienna State Opera and Volksoper performed as a moving interpreter of Lieder by Schubert, Hugo Wolf, Brahms and Mahler.
