Gore and Bradley: A Comparison
Jacob Weisberg
Posted Sunday, Jan. 23, 2000, at 10:21 AM PT
CEDAR RAPIDS, IowaYesterday I hopped from the S.S. Gore to Bill Bradley's battered dinghy. The contrast between the two candidates, and between the two campaigns, could hardly be more striking. Gore glides across Iowa's highways in a sleek vice-presidential motorcade, with a plush bus for the candidate, black wagons full of Secret Service agents, an ambulance, and two press buses. For longer distances, Gore hops aboard Air Force Two. Bradley shambles through traffic in a ragtag caravan. Continue Article Here's the scene at the typical Gore event of yesterday, a huge rally in Waterloo: A cheering, sign- and flag-waving throng of many hundreds fills the bleachers and floor of the basketball arena at Northern University of Iowa. A marching band blares out "Twist and Shout" as an enormously bloated Ted Kennedy jiggles to the music. Kennedy gives Gore a rasping stem-winder of introduction. "He has the potential for greatness," Kennedy thunders. "He has the potential to be one of our greatest presidents." Gore assumes the stage like a rock star, dressed in his best Iowa casualdeep-blue sport shirt, cowboy boots, and khakis, with a Palm Pilot holster attached to his belt. The vice president introduces another celebrity, the jazz pianist Herbie Hancock, before launching into a feisty pep talk to his troops. The press watches from two raised platforms, but throughout the day has no direct access to Gore.

My Great-unlce, Leo George MAURATH and his friend "Buss" MORT , were travelling from one party to another, late on the night of Friday, November 9, 1934, or that Saturday. They had been drinking, and Leo (who was driving his '29 Roadster with rumble seat), tried to make a sharp turn which he had missed, and rolled the car.

Descendants of Peter Ware
Generation No. 1 1. Peter1 Ware1 was born Abt. 1720 in Virginia. He married Susannah Randle2,2 Bef. 1750 in Brunswick Co., Va., daughter of John Randle and Mary ?. She was born Abt. 1728 in Virginia, and died 13 March 1819 in Georgia. Notes for Susannah Randle:
Susannah death is noted in the William Morgan Family Bible.
"She died in 98th or 99th year of her life." This statement is probably in error, since it would indicated a birthdate of 1720, while information from other sources have her born about 1728. Her parentage is establishedby a gift of love from John Randle to his daughter, Susannah Ware, of the plantation on which she lived with the 163 acres adjoining (Brunswick Co., Va. Deed Book 4, pg. 125). On Oct. 28, 1771 this same land is sold by Peter Ware and Susannah, his wife (Brunswick Co., Va., Deed Book 10, pg. 244)
Children of Peter Ware and Susannah Randle are:
+ 2 i. Roland B.2 Ware, born 01 January 1760 in Brunswick Co., Virginia; died 15 June 1864 in McMinn County, Tennessee.

... Printer-friendly William Roy, Songwriter and Pianist Who Collaborated With Julie Wilson, Dead at 75 By Kenneth Jones
04 Sep 2003
William Roy.
William Roy, the songwriter, conductor and pianist known as a trusted accompanist to cabaret star Julie Wilson, died Sept. 2 in West Palm Beach, FL, of respiratory failure following a series of small strokes, according to friends and colleagues. Mr. Roy, known to pals as Billy Roy, was 75 years old and had moved to Florida in 1996. As a songwriter, he penned the score to the Broadway musical Maggie, starring Keith Andes, Betty Paul and James Broderick, in 1953, and contributed songs to the revue, New Faces of 1962. His work was heard in nightclubs in New York City, including Julius Monk's revues at the famed Upstairs at the Downstairs in the 1950s. "The Four Seasons at the Seagram" was among the songs Mr. Roy wrote (with lyricist Louis Botto, a longtime Playbill editor). The song was a satire of a man who attended the Four Seasons restaurant and fell into the pool there, only to be extracted the following spring. Typical of other topical songs by the duo was "After Burton, Who?" (about Liz Taylor). He thrived in the era when writers could seemingly launch a career by having their songs in a nightclub show. Mr. Roy wrote with many collaborators over the years, and penned several musicals that played outside of New York.
