Das Proletariat macht verschiedene Entwicklungsstufen durch. Sein Kampf gegen die Bourgeoisie beginnt mit seiner Existenz. Karl Marx
was born on May 5, 1818 in the city of Trier, Germany. Marx was a revolutionary who advocated "merciless criticism of everything existing" and was the co-originator of the theories of "Communism." In the autumn of 1843, Marx went to Paris in order to publish a radical journal. It was in Paris in September, 1844 where he first met life-long friend and associate Frederick Engels. Marx and Engels were both active in various revolutionary groups and together worked out the theory and tactics of "Revolutionary Proletarian Socialism" or "Communism." Marx was banished from Paris in 1845 as a dangerous revolutionary. He went to Brussels, Belgium. In the spring of 1847 Marx, along with Engels, joined a secret society called the "Communist League." At the league's request they authored the " Communist Manifesto," which outlines the theory of the class struggle, and of the revolutionary role of the proletariat. Due to his revolutionary activities, Marx was banished from Belgium in February 1848, finally ending up in London in 1849 where he lived until his death. In 1864 the "International Working Men's Association" was founded in London. Marx was a central figure in the new organization, and author of its first statement, and a host of resolutions, declarations and manifestos. His health was undermined by his strenuous work for "International." The first volume of "Das Kapital," Marx's most important work, appeared in 1867. Ultimately ill-health prevented him from completing two other volumes.

... SOUTH AMERICA Karl Marx Karl Marx was a German , but his ideas changed Russian history. Marx was dismayed by the treatment of workers in Europe. Conditions in European factories were very harsh and unsafe. Marx argued that workers, rather than landlords, should control factories and farms. He urged the "workers of the world to unite" in a worldwide revolution. Marx's ideas were known as Communism, a word formed for common. Workers would share wealth in a communist society. Marx wrote that wealth should be distributed "from each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs." He was born a Jew, but his father converted the family to Christianity in order to get a job. Marx did not believe in god and thought workers were controlled by religion. He said, "religion is the opiate of the people." Opium is a drug.

Harry Quelch , the son of a blacksmith, was born in Hungerford, Berkshire, on 30th January, 1858. The Quelch's were very poor and at the age of ten Harry was forced to leave school to help increase the family income. Harry found work in an upholster's shop and this was followed by spells working for a dairyman and a cattle dealer.
At the age of fourteen, Quelch left Berkshire for London and successively worked as a factory worker producing biscuits, a tanyard, an iron foundry, and a wholesale paper warehouse. Although Quelch left school early he retained an interest in education and in his twenties he taught himself French.
Quelch read numerous books on politics including a French edition of Das Capital by Karl Marx . The book converted him to revolutionary socialism and after hearing H. M. Hyndman

110. Karl Marx, Manifesto Of The Communist Party
Online version of the text.
http://www.hartford-hwp.com/archives/26/176.html
Manifesto of the Communist Party* spectre is haunting Europe - the spectre of Communism. All the Powers of old Europe have entered into a holy alliance to exorcise this spectre: Pope and Czar, Metternich and Guizot, French Radicals and German police-spies. Where is the party in opposition that has not been decried as Communistic by its opponents in power? Where the Opposition that has not hurled back the branding reproach of Communism, against the more advanced opposition parties, as well as against its reactionary adversaries? Two things result from this fact: I. Communism is already acknowledged by all European Powers to be itself a Power. II. It is high time that Communists should openly, in the face of the whole world, publish their views, their aims, their tendencies, and meet this nursery tale of the Spectre of Communism with a Manifesto of the party itself. To this end, Communists of various nationalities have assembled in London, and sketched the following Manifesto, to be published in the English, French, German, Italian, Flemish and Danish languages. I Bourgeois and Proletarians II Proletarians and Communists III Socialist and Communist Literature IV Position of the Communists in Relation to the Various Existing Opposition Parties Editor's Introduction of 1976 Editor's note for this 1995 on-line edition of the Manifesto of the Communist Party.

A Biography of Karl Marx
Karl Marx was born in Germany in 1818 just after the close of the Napoleonic wars. His parents were Jewish, but converted to Lutheranism when he was only six. It is difficult to know what effect this would have on his later philosophy, but we do know that Marx would be antithetical to religious belief, at one time pronouncing it, "the opiate of the masses". Educated in the best universities in Germany at Bonn, Berlin and Jena, he was greatly influenced by the most prominent scholar of the previous generation, Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel. As youth turned to middle age, Karl Marx's views became more radical and finally hardened into the body of thought we know today. His journey to this point took him out of Germany where the newspaper he edited, the Rheinische Zeitung, was suppressed by the Government. He moved to Paris in 1843 and later to Brussels in 1845. As an activist writer he was prominent in radical circles, but obscure to the point of unknown to the rest of the world. In 1847 he was asked by a Communist League to write a statement of principles. In 1848 this would be finalized in the Communist Manifesto. His activities in Brussels finally got him expelled from the country and he made his way to London. In England he would devote his life to researching his book on economics and history now known as "Das Kapital". This was published in four volumes, only one of which came out during his life-time. He was supported mainly by Engels who had a successful textile business.
