Johann Gottlieb Fichte
Inspired by his reading of Kant, Johann Gottlieb Fichte (1762 - 1814) developed during the final decade of the eighteenth century a radically revised and rigorously systematic version of transcendental idealism, which he called Wissenschaftslehre of "Doctrine of Scientific Knowledge." Perhaps the most characteristic, as well as most controversial, feature of the Wissenschaftslehre (at least in its earlier and most influential version) is Fichte's effort to ground his entire system upon the bare concept of subjectivity, or, as Fichte expressed it, the "pure I." During his career at the University of Jena (1794-1799) Fichte erected upon this foundation an elaborate transcendental system that embraced the philosophy of science, ethics, philosophy of law or "right." and philosophy of religion.

Fichte's Transcendental Philosophy : The Original Duplicity of Intelligence and Will
(Modern European Philosophy) by Gunter Zoller. This is the first book in English on the major works of the German philosopher Johann Gottlieb Fichte (1762-1814). It examines the transcendental theory of self and world from the writings of Fichte's most influential period (1794-1800), and considers in detail recently discovered lectures on the Foundations of Transcendental Philosophy. Combining incomparable erudition, sensitive readings of some of the most difficult of philosophical texts, clarity in exposition and an acute awareness of historical context, this book takes its place as the ideal introduction to Fichte's thought. 9. Johann Gottlieb Fichte
Johann Gottlieb Fichte. Inimese määratlus . Johann Gottlieb Fichte sündis paelakudujapojana 19. mail 1762 Rammenaus ÜlemLausitzi maakonnas Saksimaal.
http://www.hot.ee/allen/Gottlieb.htm
Johann Gottlieb Fichte "Inimese määratlus" Filosoofia kodutöö Fichte filosoofia põhjapanevateks teosteks on Jena perioodil (1794 - 1799) kirjutatud: 1.

14. Johann Gottlieb Fichte
Johann Gottlieb Fichte, 1762 1814. This master was Johann Gottlieb Fichte, born at Rammenau, in Upper Lusatia, on the 19th of May, 1762.
http://www.alcott.net/alcott/home/champions/Fichte.html
Johann Gottlieb Fichte, 1762 - 1814
Johann Gottlieb Fichte was an influential post-Kantian German philosopher whose teachings on philosophy and theology were discussed and admired by the New England Transcendentalist circle. His Wissenschaftslehre (1795) presents the basis of his philosophy, which extends that of Immanuel Kant by emphasizing the role of the ich , or ego, where Kant spoke of the "thing-in-itself" and that of the nicht-ich , or non-ego, as the existential basis of the objective world. Transcendentalists such as Ralph Waldo Emerson whose early definition of nature clearly derives from Fichte's philosophyencountered Fichte, Friedrich Schelling , and Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel mainly through commentaries written in English by Thomas Carlyle and Samuel Taylor Coleridge Fichte has been written about as follows by Octavius Brooks Frothingham , the first historian of American Transcendentalism
The direction given to philosophy by such a man could not but be decided and bold. His short treatises, all marked by intellectual power, some by glowing eloquence, carried his thoughts beyond the philosophical circle and spread his leading principles far beyond the usual speculative lines. "The Destination of Man," "The Vocation of the Scholar," "The Nature of the Scholar," "The Vocation of Man," "The Characteristics of the Present Age," "The Way towards the Blessed Life," were translated into English, published in the "Catholic Series" of John Chapman, and extensively read. The English reviewers helped to make the author and his ideas known to many readers.

Johann Gottlieb Fichte (1762-1814)
Johann Gottlieb Fichte is one of the major figures in German philosophy in the period between Kant and Hegel. Initially considered one of Kant's most talented followers, Fichte developed his own system of transcendental idealism, the Wissenschaftslehre , which sought to work out in great detail Kant's insight that finite rational beings such as ourselves are to be interpreted in terms of both theoretical and practical reason. Through technical philosophical works and popular writings Fichte exercised great influence over his contemporaries, especially during his years at the University of Jena. His influence waned towards the end of his life, and Hegel's subsequent dominance in German philosophy relegated Fichte to the status of a transitional figure whose thought helped to explain the development of German idealism from Kant's Critical philosophy to Hegel's philosophy of Spirit. Today, however, Fichte is rightly seen as an important philosopher in his own right, as a thinker who carried on the Kantian legacy of transcendental philosophy in a highly original form.

Johann Gottlieb Fichte Life The Early Period Johann Fichte was born as a son of a very poor ribbon weaver in the village called Rammenau in Sachsen (Saxony in Eastern Germany). When he was a small child, he learned how to weave ribbon and watch geese and helped his family. Johann was a very unusual child and was able to retell the sermon as he very carefully listened to the preacher 's talk. One day, a wealthy farmer from the neighboring village was not able to be to attend the church service on time one Sunday. So someone told him that he should ask that child who attended the geese. As the wealthy farmer heard that child recite the sermon back to him exactly without any problem to him, he was so impressed with his potential that he sponsored this child's education.
Critique of Practical Reason , I am living in a totally different world. The principles that I hitherto believed to be absolutely certain have been totally uprooted and destroyed. What I previously thought to be impossible to explain, for example, absolute Freedom and Moral Obligation are apodeictically demonstrated. An exhaustible joy fills me. It is incredible how great and overwhelming the admiration and the strength to humanity this system gives."
