The technologies used to manufacture ultra high-density circuits have reached their technical performance limits. Dr Myhra has achieved the in-principle demonstration of a fundamentally different mechanism whereby bit densities of the most common data storage medium can be increased by a factor of 1,000 or more, using the technique of "nano-writing". Nano-writing can also be adapted to the fabrication of integrated electronic circuits with device densities at the sub-100 nanometre level.
