[MOBY-l] GetPubmed service: calling from Perl, sample response
Martin Senger senger at ebi.ac.uk
Thu Apr 1 20:22:29 EST 2004 Thanks for sending me data and code. The differences (between your perl and my Java) are in SOAPAction header and in the coding. I am sending input as a string - you are sending it as CDATA block. The second difference should not matter. The SOAPAction is created from given URI. I was using ' http://mobycentral.cbr.nrc.ca/MOBY/Central' - which was wrong. When I changed it to yours: ' http://biomoby.org/' I got results correctly back. I GOT RESULTS CORRECTLY BACK. So, Mark, what did you mean (in doc) by "At this moment" when talking about this URI as mandatory one? Is this a pending issue or a solved one? I would still feel more comfortable if this datum become part of the service registration... Thanks for the help, Martin Martin Senger EMBL Outstation - Hinxton Senger at EBI.ac.uk

From Accelerators To Asteroids
Authors: Martin L. Perl
Comments: Presented at the Cosmic Genesis and Fundamental Physics Workshop, October, 1999
In this talk I discuss the reach of traditional methods of elementary particle physics in five broad experimental areas. For each of these areas I inquire how that reach is, or might be, extended by experimental and observational astrophysics and astronomy. The five areas are: searches for particles with very large masses and measuring those masses, searches for particles with very small masses and measuring those masses, searches for new types of particles, searches for unexpected behavior of the known forces or for new forces and searches for new phenomena at very high energies.

    You might try something like this. No guarantees given or implied!
    Martin Kay
    #!/usr/bin/perl
    kwic [switches] pattern files
    Search for a pattern given by a Perl regular expression in a file and
    show the matches in key-word-in-context (KWIC) format. Use a pattern
    like "/s/S+/s" to get all words. The program makes sure that there is a space before the first word on each line to make this easy. switches -l: length of left context. -r: length of right context.
