"I thirst" had a special meaning for Mother Teresa "I thirst." These words of Jesus spoken from the cross had a special meaning for Mother Teresa. In the chapel of her Missionaries of Charity in Dorchester, these words appear in cut-out paper letters attached to the wall at the side of the tabernacle. Here Mother Teresa spent time in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament each day. Here she and the sisters gather in similar chapels around the world to pour themselves out as an offering of love before the Lord. Here the Lord filled their thirst and strengthened them for their witness of love in the Mass. To have seen one chapel of the Missionaries of Charity is to have seen them all. A stark simplicity, like everything else about the community, in their "style." When the sisters moved into their first and temporary home in Boston, the chapel was on the second floor. When Mother Teresa arrived to inaugurate the presence of her sisters, she immediately rearranged things so that the chapel would be on the first floor. When I arrived to greet her, a sister was coming down the stairs holding a statue of our Lady. To my surprised question about what was happening, I was told that Mother wants the chapel on the first floor so that an who come here can easily visit our Lord.

Mother Teresa Mother Teresa was perhaps God's greatest gift to mankind. She was an apostle of God who brought in succour for the poor and the destitute. Her whole life was a saga of love for the poor and the dying. She said "My work is just a drop when what is needed is an ocean of compassion. If I did not put in that drop, the ocean would be one drop the less". Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu
Mother Teresa was born Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu in Skopje, then in Albania, Yugoslavia, on August 27, 1910. At an young age of 18, she became a nun in the Irish Order of the Sisters of Loreto. She was given the name "Teresa" on her joining the order. Mother Teresa came to india and taught at St. Mary's School in Calcutta.
It was on September 10, 1946 while travelling to Darjeeling she heard a voice of God within, asking her to leave the convent and serve the poor. She heard this little voice in her and dedicated her life to serve the poor and she believed in doing so she would be serving God.

Mother Teresa, Woman of the Century
Mother Teresa of Calcuta was born in Albania. At the age of 18, Mother Teresa attended the religious Order called Our Lady of Loreto in Ireland. She received her spiritual training in Ireland and Darjeeling, India. She was born with the name Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu. But in 1931, Mother Teresa took the name of Teresa from the French nun Thérèse Martin, who was canonized in 1927 with the title St. Thérèse of Lisieux. In 1937, Mother Teresa took her vows. She taught for 20 years in Saint Mary's High School in Calcutta, India. In September 10, 1946, Mother Teresa received another call from God to serve the poorest of the poor who live in the streets. She loved that country so much that she became a citizen of India in 1948, the same year Pope Pious XII granted her permission to leave her duties. Mother Theresa became an independent nun. She began to share her life with the poor, the sick and the hungry of Calcutta. Mother Teresa established a congregation called the Missionaries of Charity. She began her work in India by teaching the children of the streets how to read. In 1950, Mother Teresa began to also care for lepers. In 1965, Pope Paul VI put the Missionaries of Charity under his protection and gave Mother Teresa permission to expand her Order to other countries. Centers have opened almost everywhere around the world to assist lepers, the elderly, the blind, and people living with AIDS. Mother Teresa also opened schools and homes for the poor and abandoned children. Her vocation was a message of love. Her work demonstrates that a true conviction is always accompanied by action and that love in action is service.

This extraordinary woman was born as Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu on 27 of August 1910 in Skopje, now Republic of Macedonia, ( In 1910 Macedonia was part of the Ottoman Impair ). According to Mother Teresa's Indian Diplomatic passport, She was born on 26 August in Skopje, Macedonia in that time 1948 one of six republics of state Yugoslavia. But, the relatives who still live in Skopje will emphasized that she was born on 26 of August 1910, baptised August 27 in the Roman Catholic Church in Skopje and that day is count as a day of her birth. There is a confusion about hers nationality and about the history of her family. Mother Teresa spent 18 years of her life in Skopje, before she went to Ireland in 1928 to join the Institute of the Blessed Virgin Mary, sailing later, to India as a teacher. She had never wanted to talk about her past, or about her family. Mother Teresa always pointed out "My work that's me". During her last visit to Skopje in 1980 she was often asked if she is Albanian, Macedonian, Vlachk, Serb or some other nationality. She answered typically of her lifestyle -

Steps to sainthood In the 10th century, Pope John XV developed an official canonisation procedure, which went through some revisions in the ensuing 1,000 years.
  • The process must begin five years after the candidates' death. (Pope John Paul II waived this requirement in Mother Teresa's case.)
  • Local bishops investigate the life of the candidate and the findings are sent to the Vatican.
  • After approval by a panel of theologians and cardinals, the pope proclaims the candidate is "venerable," meaning a role model of Roman Catholic virtues.
  • The next step is beatification if it is determined by the church that the candidate is responsible for a miracle after his or her death.
  • Finally, for the designation of

Sisters of Our Lady of Mount Carmel History of Our Congregation
The Institute of the sisters of Our Lady of Mount Carmel is a contemplative and active religious congregation that was founded in Florence, Italy on October 15, 1854 by Mother Maria Teresa Scrilli . The Mother Foundress inspired by the Holy Spirit, began the institute out of her deep concern "to lead souls to God" and as a response to the great sociatal need of the times.
Her concern for the moral, christian and civil instruction and education of youth from their tenderest years through adolescence gave birth to the teaching apostolate of the Order. In later years, the need arose to extend the work of the Order to include in homes for the aged. These works are now being continued in the countries of Italy, the United States of America, Canada, India, Poland, the Republic of Cesks and Brazil.
The Canadian foundation began in 1949 in Niagara Falls Canada. For the past twenty-two years, the Institute has been working in the Archdiocese of Toronto serving the community though our Day Care Centers, parish work and nursing.
In 1975, the Italian community in Toronto built a facility for their elderly citizens known as Villa Columbo. Our sisters were invited to offer assistance to these many years the sisters have been providing a climate of family warmth and loving care. St. Teresa of Avila
    St. Teresa of Avila
Saint Teresa was born in Avila, Spain, March 28, 1515. She died in Alba, October 4, 1582. Her family origins have been traced to Toledo and Olmedo. Her father, Alonso de Cepeda, was a son of a Toledan merchant, Juan Sanchez de Toledo and Ines de Cepeda, originally from Tordesillas. Juan transferred his business to Avila, where he succeeded in having his children marry into families of the nobility. In 1505 Alonso married Catalina del Peso, who bore him two children and died in 1507. Two years later Alonso married the 15-year-old Beatriz de Ahumada of whom Teresa was born. Early Life.
At about 12 the fervor of her piety waned somewhat. She began to take an interest in the development of her natural attractions and in books of chivalry. Her affections were directed especially to her cousins, the Mejias, children of her aunt Dona Elvira, and she gave some thought to marriage. Her father was disturbed by these fancies and opposed them. While she was in this crisis, her mother died. Afflicted and lonely, Teresa appealed to the Blessed Virgin to be her mother. Seeing his daughter's need of prudent guidance, her father entrusted her to the Augustinian nuns at Santa Maria de Gracia in 1531. Vocation.
