    http://www-student.linc.ox.ac.uk/florey/Floreybi.htm
The Lord Florey Society is so named in memory of the Nobel prize-winner and Fellow of Lincoln College, Professor Sir Howard Walter Florey, OM, later Baron Florey of Adelaide, in the Commonwealth of Australia, and Marston, in the County of Oxfordshire, through whose leadership Oxford University's first Middle Common Room for postgraduate students was established in Lincoln College, in Michaelmas Term 1958. While a Fellow of Lincoln College and Professor of Pathology, Lord Florey (and his team, whom their Lincoln colleages nicknamed the penicillini ) perfected the pioneering techniques of the clinical application and mass-production of penicillin that led to his 1945 Nobel Prize for Physiology and Medicine (shared with Ernst Boris Chain and Sir Alexander Fleming), 'for the discovery of penicillin and its curative effect in various infectious diseases'. Click on the picture for a link to the Sir William Dunn School of Pathology, University of Oxford, where the ground-breaking research was performed. Lord Florey's links to Magdalen College, where he was a Rhodes Scholar (South Australia, 1921-1923), and The Queen's College, where he was Provost (1962-1968), are perhaps more widely known than his long and distinguished association with Lincoln College, which spanned the nearly three decades of his Professorship of Pathology, from 1934 to 1962.

    http://www-student.linc.ox.ac.uk/florey/welcome.htm
Dear Lincoln Postgraduate: We are pleased to invite you to become a member of the Lord Florey Society. The Society was established in May 1997 to provide current Lincoln College postgraduate students a forum to discuss their intellectual interests, and to support and maintain a network by which former Lincoln postgraduates might maintain close relations with one another and with the College. The Society is closely connected to and a vital part of the Lincoln College Middle Common Room (MCR). Lincoln's MCRthe oldest in Oxfordwas founded through the leadership of the Nobel prize-winner and Fellow of Lincoln College, Professor Sir Howard Walter Florey, OM, later Baron Florey of Adelaide, in the Commonwealth of Australia, and Marston, in the County of Oxfordshire. The primary function of the Society is to provide graduates with a forum in which to present their ideas and meditations to other Lincoln colleagues and friends. Beginning in Michaelmas Term 1997, the Society has held at least two such gatherings each term. Though meetings originally saw members present papers connected with their academic work, we now encourage speakers to address any topic which they judge both interesting and stimulating. We aim to provide good conversation rather than just another lecture. Over the past year we have enjoyed presentations which ranged over Renaissance Literature, Synthetic Organic Chemistry, Minoean Archeaology and the art of comedy. all Lincoln's postgraduate students Lord Florey Society members.

Pros: High scholastic standards. Many are beautiful Cons: Very competitive
Recommend to potential buyers: yes Full review The University of Cambridge, one of the most famous and renowned universities in the world has a long and illustrious history, and is organised on a collegiate system. Many well known figures in history are graduates of Cambridge including Wordsworth, Bertrand Russell, LOrd Keynes, and former Indian prime minister Mr Nehru and nobel laureates such as AK Sen. What follows is a short round-up of some of its well-known colleges and their famous former students. Clare Christs Christs is another very attractive college with such illustrious former students as Charles Darwin, C.P. Snow, Milton, Lord Mountbatten, and Lord Todd nobel prize winner (chemistry). It has its own theatre, lively bar and a lively set of undergraduates. The college colours are brown and white.
